Stayed at La Vila this week, i have to say the staff are a credit to the owner Patricia is a little gem perfec. The blonde head waitress needs to smile more often it suits her.
Downside is not good for the less mobile no lifts and no ramps...... front rooms look out over the lovely square however noise late at night is not good .... no good for a sleep from 10pm or a young family. Garden looks bigger in the pictures but its really an outside eating area..... no place for a quiet sit and read.....food is perfect breakfasts are the bestbin the area get the medium boiled eggs Mmmmm . would i go back no only because they have nowhere to sit quiety my balcony was too small to sit and watch the world go.

Room Tip: Choose a garden view room for a quiet time.... no lift!

Thank you for your review. I have to say that it is true that there is no lift, but it is not said anywhere that there is one.. And the reason for that is that when we were refurbishing the building and converting it into a Hotel, we would have had to destroy too many artistic features of this unique Art Nouveau building that we have which most of people are able to appreciate very much. And we always offer help with the suitcases.
About the quiet area that you mention, of course there is our garden always open for our hotel clients to sit down and relax anytime, also outside the restaurant's opening hours, which a lot of our clients enjoy very much. In our garden you forget completely that you are in the middle of the square because it feels as if you were in the mountain, with all the plants and flowers and calm that there is. I think you missed something, or you did not understand it this way maybe. And to watch the world go by we have our terrace in the square.. what else can you ask?
About square or garden view... Eternal question. We have regular clients who always and only want square view. Our square is for me the most beautiful on the island, with the building of the church and the old Bank of Sóller, and the tram crossing it every half an hour.. it is a unique scenery. Some other clients want only garden view. This is always a very personal subject :-)
I asked you often if everything was ok, and you were telling me how nice everything was when you were settling your bill the night before you left, this is why i do not understand very well..
Anyway... thank you for staying with us!!

We have just returned from Mallorca whereby we stayed at the La Vila Hotel for two nights. This is situated in the wonderful Soller Square and we were not disappointed in any way. Toni the owner could not have been more helpful and went out of his way to please. He speaks perfect English as does his staff - all of them very knowledgeable, kind, very attentive and always had a smile. Patricia, Sylvie and Tanya were all exceptional and work very hard with very long hours but still, always had a smile. They would always find time to hold a conversation with us which made a lovely change and made us feel very welcome.

The food was excellent and we could not choose a favourite as it was all excellent. The breakfasts were very good and great to be able to eat this in the square.

I cannot understand the comments from tripadvisor member called Barbara who has recently posted her views! All I can say is that this person was asleep throughout her stay at La Vila and to say that the staff were from a Faulty Towers scenario is very much unjustified and NOT accepted. Wake up Barbara! You have to remember Barbara you were a guest on this wonderful island and in this fabulous hotel and you have to adjust to the spanish lifestyle and show respect! The super reviews prove how fantastic La Vila actually is !

This small hotel is a wonderful 'gem'. Full of character and charisma. The rooms were very comfortable and very clean. This hotel had a feeling of warmth with its antiquitine design.

We would have loved to have stayed there for longer had we not had to return to Cala Ratjada and then onto Can Pastilla. We did say to Toni that we would love to return at a later date and we will. To us, this was a 5* hotel in all aspects and we cannot praise this hotel enough - Toni and his staff all deserve medals for their ongoing high spirit towards guests and their continuous hard work to please.

We would recommend this delightful, wonderful hotel of true character and all that it offers to anyone visiting Soller - I assure you, you will not be disappointed.

Thank you Toni, Patricia, Tanya and Sylvie for making us feel very welcome - we enjoyed our stay so very much and will definitely be returning as soon as it is possible.

Gracias nuestros amigos - le veremos otra vez tan pronto como es posible

Lovely looking hotel ideally situated in the main square, extremely comfortable beds.If you want a
well cooked relaxing breakfast served by pleasant charming staff this place is not for you.Eggs extremely overcooked bacon incinerated, boiled eggs burst and should not have been served to guests, order was taken very abruptly and at least 4 mistakes were made.Waitress's came from the Basil Fawlty school of charm with an honours degree.

I can't really add much to what the other reviewers have said. This is great hotel.

Located overlooking the town square, it's an antidote to the boring chain type hotels that are prevelant nowadays.

Service is excellent, friendly and attentive but not intrusive. Although Tony is the owner, he seemed to leave the running of the hotel to his staff, all of which were without fail helpful. The Finnish Maitre d' was especially knowledgeable with regard to food and wine.

Breakfast was very good, good choice. Scrambled eggs with smoked salmon was particularly good, as was the freshly squeezed orange juice which you get almost everywhere on the island.

Evening meals were also top quality. Lamb with crusted olives was my fave. Tried the excellent local wines and usually finished the meal off with a (very) large Majorcan brandy.

Rooms were comfortable and quiet.

Soller is an interesting town in a beautiful area, with plenty of things to do and places to see.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We booked online and weren't sure what to expect. Arrived by train, walked across bustling square and found Hotel la Vila tucked away in the corner. We were early but that wasn't a prob, staff very, very helpful and welcoming. We loved the decor, the old wrought-iron staircase, the wall paintings up to our room overlooking a palm tree. It was a true delight and I have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone who likes quiet elegance and charming surroundings. Its right in the centre of Söller so easy to walk everywhere. The bar as you step off the street is what you hope every Parisian hotel would have. Perfect for a post dinner cognac. Staff were lovely. We went in late October but will go back in early summer.

Room Tip: Room at back overlooked palm tree and mountains. Bliss

We stayed for three nights at this wonderful small hotel in the main square of Soller. It was just perfect for our short break - the staff were lovely, our room very clean and a really good size. The the food was fantastic, from the lovely fresh breakfasts to the excellent dinners and great wine. The location of the hotel is only a few minutes walk from the train station (we travelled by train from Palma to Soller) and the tram which travels to the Port of Soller regularly during the day. After our trips to the Port and various walks we really enjoyed sitting outise the hotel on the square watching the world go by over a few beers and glasses or Rioja. If you travel to Soller you shouldn't stay anywhere else but at La Vila.
