“Northern Majorca- Great !!”
Reviewed September 13, 2012

Stayed here for a week early September. Great sunny weather but not too hot to sleep. From the airport catch Bus No.1 (about every 15 mins) to Palma - 2.50 euros - takes about 20 minutes. Then at bus stop (Playa Despagna) go down 2 escalators to underground bus station and take Bus No.211 (express via tunnel) direct to Port de Soller. Cost 3.10 euros and takes about 40 mins. The Hotel Eden is a clean adequate 3* hotel with reasonable facilities. Only real complaint is that they charge extra for the use of the fridge in the room (rather stingy!). Our room faced south (the right hand side as you look from the beach). Small balcony with side view to sea but sunny all day ! Other rooms on the front and overlooking the pool area either get no sun or only in the late afternoon. TV in room receives BBC and ITV. Breakfast is a good selection of many hot and cold choices. The evening buffet is 12 euros and also a good choice of dishes but many very good local restaurants within a few minutes walk. We found Palmeras especially good and friendly. The Hotel location is excellent - just a few paces to the promenade and lovely sandy beach. Quite a cosmopolitain resort with many German and French holidaymakers as well as English. For trips out you can get the local bus nearby to Soller (but the lovely old Tram is much better at 5 euros per trip - right into the heart of Soller.) From there you can take the old train to Palma (takes 1 hour-12.50 euros). It arrives at the bus/railway station in the centre of Palma. There is also another route Port de Soller to Palma - Bus No.210- which is 4.15 euros and takes much longer ( one and half hours) than the 211 but a very scenic route via Deia and Valedemosa. Also once a day there's a bus to Port de Pollensa (2 hours-8 euros) another very scenic drive in the mountains to a pleasant alternative resort. For those interested, cigarettes are 45 euros for 200 (52 euros at the airport). A taxi to the airport or back is 52 euros. We shall go back to this resort/ Hotel again soon !!

We stayed at this hotel during August 2012. 5 nights. Great location, Overlooking beach and in resurt centre. Nice pool, and other public areas. Food great, we stayed half board, plenty of choices for both breakfast and dinnes. The best thing about of hotel was the staff, very friendly and helpfull with good english. Evening entertainment of livley eg Elvis night, dancing girls.
The only negative was our room, very small but it did have balcony, without this we would have felt very cramped. Overall good. Soller is a nice location, nice beach, eating and drinking places are plentyful. A family resort ,don't go there looking for great nightlife.

Stayed for a week in June, and thoroughly enjoyed both resort and hotel. Room I had looked as though it had been recently rennovated, with flat screen tv etc and had view of front and beach. Evening entertainment was good, and didn't finish too late.Nice staff. Food was good. Location is superb - right on the front. Certainly hope to return.

this was our second stay at this hotel and we would definitely recommend it, basic but clean, powerful hot shower, good air conditioning system, great staff and lovely food. the hotel is situated right on the front of Puerto Soller perfectly located. the only negative I can give for this hotel is not enough sunbeds round the pool for the amount of people staying here.

just got back after a week at the hotel eden, the hotel was very clean, wonderful staff, and I would like to praise the manager for removing towels from reserved sun beds, oh how I enjoyed watching peoples faces when there chosen beds were occupied by someone else, the food at the hotel was very basic but then the holiday was cheap. would go again Helen and Dave yorkshire

Was very pleasantly surprised by this hotel, located in a fantastic position in Soller. We had a brilliant room, Room 712, with our own terrance and sun loungers, jacuzzi bath, flat screen TV with most of the channels that we wanted to watch. The food although it was buffet was good and plentiful. There were plenty of lounger around the pool area and a well stocked bar. The hotel was very clean and the staff courtious and helpful. All in all an enjoyable stay, we would certainly go back.

Room Tip: Pay the small extra charge for a superior room with a sea view, it's well worth it.

We arrived at night and were dismayed that the room was so dated and the pendant shade was so low my husband kept hitting his head on it. However the next day revealed that the bathroom was nicely done and the shower powerful (always a good thing!). Breakfast was included and a very nice selection was provided in a nicely appointed room. The pool was lovely, overlooking the sea and the lovely tram that toot-tooted its way up and down the main drag a few times an hour. The hotel was not only within a stones throw of the beach but pretty centrally located on the strip - with lovely restaurants and bars on either side. The entertainment was a bit kitch - but I liked that - it was nice to come back to the hotel for a liqueur to find a bit of business going on and since it finished before 11pm it did not disturb us. There were cabaret-style singers two of the nights and a display of Mallorcan music and dance one night - we were actually disappointed to miss the acrobatic Bollywood dancing the day we checked out! There is a supermarket right outside (in the unit under the pool) which was handy for soft drinks etc and you could pick up a takeaway sandwich or pastry for lunch.
