“Hotel Marina, Puerto de Soller”
Reviewed July 27, 2014

Usually choosing self catering we have just returned from a wonderful 10 day stay at Hotel Marina. The website sets this out to be a friendly family run hotel and it is! From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly, welcoming and accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. The seas view room had a great view over the bay with direct access over the pedestrian esplanade to a lovely beach. The tables are set out along the espanade and provide a great setting for out door dining at all times of the day. There is a lovely pool out back with sunbeds with towel cover and the hotel provides free beach towels that are changed every couple of days. The room was simple but clean and bright with an excellent recently refitted bathroom with a very powerful shower. Breakfast buffet was varied and good with very fresh food and great coffee even thought it was from a machine. Freshly squeezed orange juice was available to order. Puerto Soller is a great place to stay and we can't rate the resort and this hotel highly enough!

Room Tip: The sea view rooms face north west so don't get any sun until late afternoon but as it was so ho...

We found the staff extremely pleasant and helpful. The breakfasts were basic continental with a reasonable variety of choice although this could be improved. The restaurant meals were excellent and good value. ( Spanish families ate there at the weekends)
Our room was at the back on the 3rd floor ( room 302) and had a mountain view and was overlooking the pool. The room was modern, clean and very comfortable. We wished that we could have brought the shower home, one of the best we've had overseas!!
Night entertainment at the hotel, some excellent, some not so.
We intend to come back here in 2016 as already booked our holiday for next year somewhere else. Can recommend this hotel and the resort. If you want somewhere like Magaluf then this is not the place for you as this is a friendly family orientated hotel & resort

Room Tip: mountain & pool view are quieter on an evening

One of best location in the city. Calm part nearby city centrum, on the beach.
Good hotel's services (pool, spa, restaurants), nice room with seaview and rich breakfest.

Briefly, pleasant stay. Good value.

We recomended.

Martin and Hana

Room Tip: Seaview rooms are best.

Absolutely nothing negative to say. Just had a fantastic, relaxing week. We had a mountain view room on the lowest floor and still had an amazing view. The staff are very friendly and efficient. The hotel is very clean. Great value & great location.
Before we went I emailed the hotel to ask if our room had a kettle. They said they would try to accommodate this and sure enough on arrival I had a kettle in the room.
Port de Soller is very pretty and relaxed. If you are looking to be entertained then this place is not for you. It is quiet and beautiful but not lively and entertaining. An evening stroll and a romantic meal watching the sunset is what we did.
Use the Spa it is free and you get amazing view over the resort
Go by Tram to Soller market on a Saturday. Tram is 5 Euros both ways.
Taxis just outside the airport cost 58 Euros so that is expensive but takes half an hour.
I loved this holiday and would go again.

Room Tip: We had a mountain view room and it was lovely. Sea views would be fantastic. This hotel has annexe b...

Let's start with the positive things.

Location,
On the beach of the port du Soller, no cars around, and the view from the 5th floor rooms is quite stunning. You love waking up to that view.

Reception stuff is also quite friendly.

Let's move on now,

We booked and specified a double bed room, we were greeted with two single beds... Turns out that on the whole of the top floor that you get the aforementioned view they only have ONE room with a double bed. Seriously??
And after 4 emails none thought to let us know as well.

Wifi, yes. Working? Not really. Sometimes it does.

Service downstairs on the cafe, one, and in case it was not clear, ONE waiter for 14 tables... On a boutique hotel. Ordering and having a coffee served takes 30 minutes.
At least coffee and the toast were good.

Additional pricing? My girlfriend wanted her hair straightened for a wedding, just that, 66€. Why? (and we live and judge the prices in London)

Safe in the room? 2€ per day for the key, and 6€ deposit... In a boutique hotel of almost 150€ day in Majorca... Last time I saw that was in Bolivia...

Overall it's the location you get, but I believe there should be better offerings around.

The port is very nice and scenic and a great option to stay around.

Stayed in hotel marina for 3 nights and found it very pleasant. I stayed in one of their only suites, which was fairly basic but reflecting of the cheap price I paid. Overall, would say that the hotel is well managed with friendly reception and bar staff, a nice swimming pool and most importantly very well located directly on the beach. I would definitely recommend it for a short stay in Port de Soller.

All you could ask for in a 4 star hotel.

Food was good although I found breakfast time to be a bit of a scramble as everyone tried to find what they were after as the food was spread about alot. i also found it strange that people had to squeeze their own orange juice manually (why not supply a machine to do it)?

Location was perfect. The port was beautiful. The hotel is right at the water. You can pay to get a sun-bed if you want.

Room Tip: Sea view from front. Mountains from the back. Both are nice views. Some of the cheaper rooms are...
