“Great hotel but don't get put in the annex”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 26, 2013

Stayed in this hotel last week with a rambling group. Lovely hotel building in a great position with wonderful views across the bay. The staff were great and the food was acceptable - not enough choice at breakfast for me but then it is only a 3star hotel. However we were put in a ground floor room in the annex. It was awful - very very basic. It was in desperate need of painting and there was mould on the bathroom ceiling. There was no hair dryer but luckily I had packed my own. There were only two electrical points in the room - one used for the TV and one used for the fridge. The only usable socket was in the bathroom over the wash basin. Quite a fight for hair drying, charging mobile phone, mosquito gizmo etc. No extractor fan so after two of us had showered the room was quite damp (which probably explains the mould!). there were no towels in the room when we arrived and had to ask twice and then in desperation collected them from reception. One of these towels was ripped and very very thin and most of the others supplied over the week were thin - my home floor cleaning towels are in better condition! One good point - there was plenty of hot water which was welcome after a day's walking. We had twin beds, one of which was perfect but the other was quite concave! Other members of our party had better rooms in the hotel with all of the facilities one would expect. Would love to go back to Soller but would be nervous about returning to this hotel.

We have just returned from one week in Hotel Marina. Its a lovely hotel and very good value for money. The room we were in was fairly small and basic but the hotel setting more than made up for this. There are two sun decks and a small swimming pool. The beach is just a step away from the hotel and guests are given towels for the beach and swimming pool. Puerto Soller is gorgeous and very relaxing. Lots of good restaurants and quiet bars. Ideal for families with small children. Would recommend the hotel and resort to anyone.

The Marina is an excellent value hotel in a superb location. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and found both our large, clean room and the food variety at breakfast good value. We also dined at the outdoor terrace tables on three evenings, twice being on "buffet" nights. The buffets really offer some interesting and varied food choices, especially the Mallorcan buffet. Nice pool area with quality sunbeds, the beach is a dozen steps away. We would stay again without a doubt.

We stayed here in October 2012. This was our first trip to Mallorca and we were recommended the town by some walking friends of ours. We were not disappointed. The location of the hotel is perfect for walks into the surrounding hills. We caught buses to Cubar and Fornaltux and walked back into Porto de Soller. The whole area whilst is close to Palma could be in another world. The locals are friendly and the hotel was efficient and comfortable. The rooms are fairly basic but adequate. The beach on our front door was a bonus after a long dusty trek in the hills. The breakfasts were filling and varied, but enough variety to please most people. We can highly recommend it and are returning again in October.

Room Tip: We chose a room facing the mountains at the back. You do not have a view of the sea, but you will ge...

We stayed here just for one night whilst on a cycling tour and would have loved to have stayed longer. The hotel is luxurious and the staff friendly and helpful. We only had breakfast, which was very nice but didn't eat in the hotel in the evening. The location is fantastic, right on the beach and with plenty of restaurants nearby. Additionally, the main town of Soller is a short tram ride inland and has numerous shops, bars and restaurants. Will definitely try to come back at some point.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view if possible

Had a weeks walking holiday at The Marina with a group of 21.
First the hotel:----- The Marina is ideally situated on the pedestrianised end of the horseshoe bay of Puerto del Soller. The public rooms and the accommodation where immaculately clean and the beds comfortable, pool area tidy with great loungers. all the staff are friendly and hard working, nice bar and lounge area with no long waits for drinks or service, try the Gin and Tonics or Vodka and Lemon, the largest ever seen. As other reviewers have commented the food is acceptable, the consensus in our group being that Buffet dinners where better than the unvarying breakfast which had cheap corn flakes watery milk and terrible coffee, squeeze your own orange juice was good though.
The Walks:------- Puerto del Soller is ideally located for walking in the surrounding Tramantuna mountains with lots of well known and popular routes. Its a real scramble to use the public bus service, a large group ( ours 14 --- 16 ) would not stand a chance of all being able to board. So with the help of the reception ( especially Isabel, A Big Big Thank You ) we arranged transport with the local " Repic Buses " to the start and also on one occasion the return from our planned walks, the cost averaging under 10 euros per trip per person, they where very reliable and it was much more convenient. The old tram from the port to Soller town is 5 euros and a nice experience but a taxi for 4 is just 8 euros.
In conclusion a great holiday, everyone enjoyed it although the weather during our stay 20th - 27th April was mixed with one day of continuous rain.

Room Tip: Be careful, some sea views do not have a balcony

Stayed here as part of a package. I was in the annex. The room was clean, spacious and had a TV. It also had a good, powerful hairdryer, which was a pleasant surprise.

Had breakfast on 7 mornings and dinner on 3 evenings. Plenty of food. Plenty of fresh oranges to squeeze at breakfast. Tricky to get drinks served with dinner at times (staff very busy).

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Generally a nice place with a good location. Main negative point is daily charge of €3.50 for wi-fi.
