Lovely hotel right on the seafront. Great staff, brilliant rooms and outstanding beakfast. There are public balconies on the front overlooking the bay, where you can relax, which is particularly great if you have a room/suite on the back of the hotel, which does not have the evening sun.
Will definetely be back.

...but I loved Esplendido so much I'll make an exeption. Style, service, quality is what this hotel is about. The friendly staff where always available, and could always help. They helped us find a dive instructor, a staffed sail boat for a day trip, ideas for hikes, etc, etc. We quickly learned that their recommendations were truly great, and not based on commission. The beach is wonderful and right in front of the hotel, after you cross a boardwalk/streetcar track. All over the hotel, there is great modern art, original paintings by acknowledged scandinavian artists. The breakfast buffet was great, lots of fresh fruit, local delicacies, and the hotel bistro is the town's best lunch and dinner. When we caught a small tuna on a fishing rod they were kind enough to cook it for us and made the most amazing Japanese style meal out of it. The room was nice and clean, modern simple design, luxury products in the shower (Ren, Korres), a wonderful little balcony facing the bay. The garden behind the hotel is in terraces with one (smallish) pool for anyone and a lunch/afternoon cafe, and two flights up, a pool for adults only. We traveled with younger kids and enjoyed not having to worry about anyone being disturbed by their playing a splashing in the pool. In the attic, they have a lounge area with hundreds of books and LP's for anyone to enjoy. Great wifi internet access everywhere. The spa and fitness room looked beautiful, but I never used either. I can't get over how wonderful this hotel is! Note though that they have no particular activities for kids. Great kids menu, and a kid friendly pool area, but no kids club or similar. I find that a great plus :-)

Room Tip: Pick a room facing the bay, not the garden, as the garden is in terraces and rooms on lower floors h...

Fantastic hotel - family friendly and all the staff were lovely to our toddler.
Rooms are big, well appointed and the staff are all bright, smiley and very helpful. There is a casual vibe to the place but it is a full service hotel with all the bells and whistles you associate with staying in a 4 star establishment – room service, restaurant, spa, 2 outdoor pools and a mini indoor one, bar, lounge, spa, gym etc etc. Although the smallest rooms do not have any outside space, there are plenty of outdoor (and indoor) communal areas – the pool area, several terraces and lounges so you can still enjoy the sunshine and spaces.
We had a Large Sea View Terrace which gave us plenty of room for a travel cot inside and generous sun bathing area outside. Perfect for sundowners when our toddler had gone to sleep.
They are very accommodating to families providing baby cots, sofa beds in most rooms and high chairs. Kids can use the lower pool where there is a very shallow baby area but the top, thermal pool is strictly a restful retreat for adults only. There is a kids menu available in the restaurant! You can borrow beach toys from reception, they have a huge number of kids DVD’s and the staff are all very sweet with the children. We felt in no way restricted having a young toddler with us and it was nice to feel so relaxed.
Breakfast is a huge array of fruits, yogurts, cheeses, hams, cooked items, fresh jusices and coffees made to order. Plenty to keep you going all day.
The beach is a short stroll away and great for little kids as it is so protected - no waves.
Really enjoyed the spa and steam and sauna.
A lovely, restful place for your holidays.

I had never been to Mallorca before and was very pleased to have chosen the Esplendido as our hotel. The location is absolutely superb - just overlooking the bay - and the only possible criticism could be that the sun does not come onto the balconies at the front until mid-afternoon. On the other hand you do see the most splendid sunsets.

As befits its Scandanavian ownership the decor is minimal rather than luxurious in the public areas and also in our mid-price-range bedroom. In fact I would have to say that some of the modern fittings and furniture put form before function! But everything works well and we had a wide screen TV and a mini-bar/freezer with complimentary drinks as well as beverage making facilities. The pool and other leisure facilties are excellent. Staff are smartly attired, friendly, helpful and efficient.

Breakfast is very good - just about the best have experienced anywhere outside Ireland - with just about every conceivable type of food available - except porridge! Sometimes the coffee, served in those awful thermos jugs, was not very hot but it was willingly and quickly replaced. Evening meals in the so-called bistro did not seem to be so good and after being served with a piece of cod on a pool of brown gunge and a particularly dull salad on our first night we ate out for the rest of our holiday.. The prices of food and wine seemed to be quite high.

Room Tip: Most of the rooms seem to have a good sea view but just check on this

Fantastic hotel - old 1950s building on the main esplanade that's been restored and has a chilled-out vibe. Lovely rooms - have stayed in the smallest through to some of the suites - very child friendly. The pools are great - one general one for kids and adults and a more secluded infinity pool at the top for adults only. These are set on the hill behind the hotel so are quiet yet exceptionally sunny in the day. Small touches round out the place - REN products, a quiet library with old vinyl to play, outstanding room service, quiet spa and very friendly staff. Everything has a pristine, minimalist, white feel yet an easy going atmosphere - no one bats an eyelid at leaving a buggy in the lobby or spending all day in the lounge on a laptop. We've gone back several times and will visit again. Pebble beach immediately outside the hotel - which also has its own private area. Plus a small public playground 3 mins away for the kids. You can even get to the Esplendido on the old wooden tram from Soller town which stops off directly outside. Lots of upsides - only downsides are that it can be a little pricey, and it's very easy to keep eating there and never leave the hotel!

Esplendido Hotel - First of all let me say "We will be back". We loved this place. We stayed here for 4 days after 11 days in Alcudia. What a place to end our holidays. Excellent service, fantastic food and a very friendly atmosphere. Nice rooms - we stayed in a large Sea view apartment with a large balcony. That was great for four people.

The Esplendido hotel is just lovely, a real seaside hotel. It is light, airy, stylish, the staff are pleasant and helpful. The food in the bistro is excellent, freshly cooked to order. The outdoor pools were unheated and cold, but we swam anyway. Would be better with a bit of heat.
The hotel has a library, records to play, dvds to borrow and a good spa. We will certainly be back.

Room Tip: Rooms with sea view and terrace have large terrace with comfortable outdoor furniture and look strai...
