Everything about this hotel is good! Love it! Opt for a room overlooking the sea, it's absolutely worth every euro extra.

We stayed with our 3 year old daughter and it was really good for both adults and kids, if you don't prefer the large resort kind of hotel. Perfect for us who wants a boutique hotel that welcomes children. I would go again.

i Jjust had to let you know that we have just returned from this wonderful hotel where we went last year. We booked the same room No.302-with the exeptional view over the harbour-with the lovely egyptian cotton sheets and pillowcases-with the complimentary free beer[2 bottles]in the fridge in the room plus bottles of water which was replaced daily. I noticed some comments from other reviewers that there is no tea/coffee making facilities-no there isn't and you don't need it in July-if you want it order room service or go downstairs and have it in the bar area or in one of the numerous cafes nearby. Nothing is far away. The food in the Hotel is exceptional and if you want different combinations or no sauces on foods they are very obliging-nothing was too much trouble.Last year we ate out more but this year noticed a few restaurants had closed down or the food wasn't up to scratch. Es Glop round the corner is a lovely restaurant-the owner is vegetarian and there were some lovely dishes on the menu. The restaurant is not vegetarian and there were plenty of meat and fish dishes and all beautifully prepared. 3 of my family are veggie's and there was plenty for them to eat. The tram to Soller's main town is still 4 euros per person each way-you can go by taxi but they are only allowed to carry 5 people so it gets expensive if you are 6 or more. We were 7 and the tram is such a delight, not too easy to get on if you are infirm as the step is high but someone will always help you. I am disabled and my son helped me on and off but most people are very obliging. We went to the market in Soller which is on a saturday and its got everything there. The Hotel has a maine dining room for breakfasts and another adult only room for breakfast if you don't want the noise from children plus a poolside restaurant and a bar menu. Plus you can have room service[obviously a bit more expensive].Some of your reviewers said the food in the Hotel was expensive, there again I disagree, its worth every euro!!!!!. If you can afford the Hotel then you can afford the food.
By the way you don't need to take towels-they supply everything, even pool and beach towels and we had bathrobes and flipflops.

Grand old building dominating the sea front in Port Soller - beautifully re-designed and finished in a very sleek, relaxed style. Impeccable, friendly staff - we were given a room upgrade on arrival so ended up in a small but immaculate, attractive room with a spacious balcony and stupendous view of the bay. Beautiful gardens behind with two pools - one for children and a lovely infinity pool on the terrace above for quiet seeking grown ups. Breakfast is a wonderful selection of fruit, cereals, bread, cheese etc. etc. served on a pretty terrace (although there is also an attractive inside area for anyone who is inexplicably adverse to sitting outside). The beach in front is not great but a short walk around the bay brings you to a much prettier one. The hotel is fairly expensive but absolutely worth it.

This hotel was perfect for myself and a friend. It was a well needed short break and it suited us both perfectly. We had a sea view terrace room, the bed was very comfortable and you sit in bed and look straight out onto the sea. From the terrace you could watch the world go by. It has two pools, one for adults only, which are situated in terraced gardens behind the hotel. From these terraces you get differen little vista's across the bay. One hour after landing we were sitting with a 'welcome' with a drink from the pool bar.
The hotel is quite delightful, retro 1950/60's feel, good library of books and old vinyl records with turn table. DVD in room with a library of films to select from. Breakfast takes place in two places, we chose the bistro and sat outside with our morning coffee watching pedestrians pass, with no one rushing you. Quite a relaxed hotel. We did not use spa as found it expensive, a well equipped gym but when I used it the aircon was working but the ladies kept opening the doors so it was like being in a furnace, so I continued relaxing by the sea, which is perfect for swimming and crystal clear. The wooden tram runs you up to the old centre.
Soller has a very relaxed way about it, people are very friendly and welcoming.

Room Tip: We had a small terrace seaview, and though not really roomy was perfectly adequate, as the terrace w...

We have stayed at Esplendido a few times now. I like it. True its not desperately authentic but I don't mind as the surroundings are chic, clean and stylsh, the service is friendly efficient and unobtrusive. The location is fab, the food is good and I feel relaxed. i have been there alone with my son and comfortable, safe and welcome.
We will go back - Esplendido is great for all the family . Wish I was there now.

Room Tip: Connecting rooms great for families with (young) teenagers- keep a discreet eye on them

My husband and I stayed at the Esplendido in May 2011 and we loved it! Everyone at the hotel was very nice and helpful, and the hotel itself had a great style. We loved that there were three pools and explored them all! The breakfast was included and was delicious. There were so many options to choose from, including made to order egg dishes. The hotel was also centrally located in the port so you could walk anywhere in minutes. We stayed in a sea view room with a balcony and really enjoyed this. The sunsets were beautiful. Totally recommend the Esplendido!

This hotel would have got 5/5 rather than the 4/5 I gave it as there a few niggles. But to start with the good.

The location is unbeatable in Soller. In the middle away from the hustle and bustle of the Marina end and away from the rather more tacky end. As you sit with your evening drink the sun sets right inbetween the entrance to the port.

The rooms are spotless, very comfortable and the right size for which ever price bracket you go for. The Sea Views rooms are to die for, especially those with a balcony or Terrace. A tip here. If you book a Garden View room have your evening drink on one of the two sea facing terraces that are open to all on the 2nd and 3rd Floor. Wonderful evening sunset experience.

The staff are all fantastic and will always go the extra mile for you.

The breakfast is first class. Never had to wait for a table as it is served in two restaurants, one with a large out door balcony. Food ranges from the healthy options to the less so and never seems to run out despite breakfast being available until 11.00 am.
Never had lunch there but the one evening meal we had on our arrival day was very good.

The niggles....
Garden View Rooms. This is a slight misnomer. Cliff Face View would be more honest. Given the topography of the site the rear of the hotel faces a steep cliff. The cliff face is planted but to call it a view is stretching things a little. The Garden View Terrace rooms are probably not worth the extra cost as the sun only reaches them for about 1 1/2 hours in the middle of the day.

Pool Area. Again the topography limits what they can do but you should be aware on this. The sun in July did not reach 90% of the sun beds until about 12.30 and those that it did reach were next to the childrens pool which is small and noisy as you would expect from a kids pool. The Adult Only pool is at least 3 levels above the childrens pool, not recommedend for elderly or infirm. There are also very limited beds around the adult only area, max about 8. The rest of the beds are on various levels/terraces. Given the proximity of the two pools no part of this area is quiet for that you have to go to the beach.

The Beach. Here there are about 30 beds each pair having an umbrella. There is a dedicated member of staff who serves drinks and is generally very helpful. My wife and I spent every day here when we were sun bathing. Its realtively quite and from about 11.00 am onwards is constantly in the sun until sunset. However a plea to the hotel. Please please could you remove some of the stones and seaweed. The walk from bed to sea is not pleasant. All the other beaches in the town are basically sandy, this one is stoney. It would not take much to clear the stones on the beach and so make your guests life a great deal more enyoyable.

In conclusion I would and probably will go back, it is basically a wonderful hotel. The niggles are serious but just niggles and should not put you off.
