We had read online about Tramuntana tours based in both Soller and the Port, and thought about canyoning...for a couple of seconds then bottled out and booked a walking tour instead!!
We are casual walkers and manage to get our dogs up the local hills and fields here at home so were a little worried when we thought about our guided walk 6 miles around the coastline.
But we need not have.
Our guide Karen was brilliant at distracting us through the toughest parts with facts about the surrounding area. The pit-stop in the beautiful farmhouse for fresh orange juice and the most incredible views was so worth waiting for.
Although we thought we may be holding everyone up Karen was reassuring and encouraging.
This particular walk, marked as easy, was held on a Wednesday and we felt it was just right for our level of fitness.
Who knows, with such encouraging guides we could be throwing ourselves into canyoning next year after all?!

Three of us just back from 4 days road cycling based in Port de Soller. Bike hire was easy, efficient and all the advice you need was at hand from "Andy " the owner . Superb new bikes, prices very reasonable and staff allways willing to help. Best place on the island to hire bikes from.

I planned a trip to Mallorca that included 3 full days of active tours. Our fitness levels were very wide-ranging. We rock-climbed, hiked, sea-kayaked and mountain-biked- shepherded under the watchful eye of Michelle. Michelle made very thoughtful decisions- switching up our itinerary to take advantage of weather, changing routes to accommodate the needs of the group, being forcefully decisive when it came to matters of safety. I was, frankly, astonished that none of my group of middle-aged women had any injuries to report: not so much as a skinned knee. Their thoughtful planning and experience made for an absolutely magical trip.

We hired good quality, well equipped full sus mountain bikes from the Tramuntana shop in Soller for a few days in January. Andy, the manager was very helpful, the prices were reasonable and we bought a book of routes with very clear insructions, so we hardly needed the map. The routes locally are a mixture of 4x4 tracks (useful for gaining height, can be quite rough) and single trail which was basically footpaths with some black sections, mainly very stony, steps, switchbacks, in forests as well as open with fantastic views of the Med and the mountains. We didn't need a guide, but there is one available if you book ahead. There is enough MTBing here for 3 or 4 days, but after that you need to arrange transport to another area such as Pollenca.
January is a great time to go as the whole Soller valley is full of orange trees laden with fruit, the trails are quiet and every mountain restaurant has a table free. It was sunny every day for the 2 weeks before we arrived, but windy and wet while we were there, around 10 degrees Celsius - fine for cycling if you have the right gear.
We stayed in a nice apartment belong to Andy's parents, right next to the bike shop in a lovely part of town - perfect. We will be back.

Our group of 13 women went on a series of adventures with Tramuntana over a week - mountain biking though a beautiful olive orchard with lunch looking down at the Port de Soller, hiking along a gorgeous trail ridge with phenomenal views and sea kayaking along the coast on a beautiful summer day. Skill levels ranged from beginner to intermediate and Tramuntana was able to accommodate all of us. The details and planning were well executed and thoughtfully carried out, reflecting the diverse needs of our group. I would highly recommend allowing this company to guide you throughout Majorca and its surroundings in any capacity.
