“Yum with a view”
Reviewed October 2, 2011

The open ham and cheese sandwich - seriously amazing. Perfect stop for drinks after winding your way up the hairpin bends and before winding your way down again. The lady behind the bar was lovely and spoke all sorts of languages fluently. Perfect way to enjoy the views.

“Nice for lunchtime snack & an evening dinner, pleased we went”
Reviewed March 5, 2011

D'alt des Coll, just south from Soller, if you take the old road over the hill, saves paying for the tunnel and much more picturesque, the road winds back on its self and is a series of sharp hairpin bends. This stretch of road is used by cyclists chasing up & down on timed runs, watch out for them on the corners. At the top of the hill you will see the D’alt des Coll restaurant, we stopped here twice at lunchtime for a cup of espresso and a snack, both excellent and to take in the view all the way down to Palma. I believe the restaurant reopened in July 2010 after being closed for 14 years, the new proprietors, a young German couple worked hard and made us feel very welcome, we returned on Saturday evening for dinner, the road was empty but there were a few other dinners, I would suggest checking before just turning up (we were ‘February - out of season’) the menu consisted of local pork, lamb & fish dishes superbly cooked & presented, I enjoyed a slab of Hake with vegetables & black rice that was a delight, followed by a chocolate version of a Crème Brûlée with berries, outstanding, Prices are very good considering the quality of the food, the only drawback being our having to drive back to Port Soller - that glass of local red wine had to wait till later, still the road was eerily empty.
