“Lovely villa!”
Reviewed June 17, 2013

We stayed here in June 2013. It's a large villa, with a good sized pool, lots of indoor space. Beautiful gardens with a great deal of character. Lovely and secluded. You can hear people walking past occasionally but it's not an issue. We asked for an umbrella because, although there are plenty of shady spots, we might have had to sunbathe separately as he likes to be in full sun and I don't! The owners couldn't have been more helpful or pleasant and sure enough an umbrella arrived which was a godsend as the weather got pretty hot!

The information wasn't up to date with free wi-fi and the small safe wasn't there. Again it wasn't an issue, I telephone the rep who popped round and sorted it all out for us.

This is our 3rd stay with Villa plus and easily the nicest villa. The location is also great as you can walk into the old town.

Beware of driving in the old town, the streets are very narrow, so if you can avoid it, do. You will see lots of scratches on all the cars parked in the narrow streets.

I would definitely go back.

booked the villa with villaplus and was very pleased with the whole experience.
the website had a map indicating the location of the villa- in detail, so taking my sat nav got us within 25 feet of the front gate !!
the entrance had a "converted church" feel to it , which was a novelty in itself. all the rooms were a fair size and the general lay-out was good.
we found that the rear bedroom and lounge doors were the best ones to keep open when using the garden and pool area as sunning yourself around the back of the villa is out of sight from the front of the villa, even though the area felt nice and safe.
you do hear people walking past talking loudly a lot but its not too much of a problem.
there's little noise from the surrounding area Barr general maintenance from some villas a few hundred yards away.
the town of Pollensa is quiet and relaxing and no visit will be complete without a trip to Caves DE Drac some 35 miles to the south.
a very pleasurable holiday. recommended.

  • Liked — the villa "feel"
  • Disliked — narrow roads surrounding the drive up !!

We booked our first villa holiday in Pollenca, Mallorca through VillaPlus.com, an online provider in June 2007. The villa (Catalina) was a lovely, comfortable farmhouse with a pool and secluded garden in an exclusive area of the town, only 15mins walk from the centre (if you're driving, beware the VERY narrow roads-there are also lots of low walls along the highway which perhaps explains why they offer you hub cap insurance). There is another villa right next door but both it and its pool are some way away and whilst we could hear the family at the poolside it wasn't disturbing.People heading to town or walking their dogs occasionally walk past the house but the garden is pretty well screened. The only real gripe was that the plumbing in the main bathroom let out a bit of a stench but the window was open most of the time and it didn't really bother us too much. We did report this to the owner and to VillaPlus. Another minor issue was the ants which had several routes through the covered patio where we dined and had drinks. They tended to get onto the table and chairs, which could be a nuisance.

The town itself is charming and historic (though there aren't many 'sights' as such) and the tourists mostly well-healed families and couples (the Spanish are outnumbered here, it would seem). It's pretty sedate but most of the 'action' takes place around the squares in the old centre where it's nice (if a bit more pricey than mainland Spain) to dine al fresco or simply have a drink and people watch. The menu del dia at lunchtime can be reasonably priced, especially if you go to the restaurants outside of the historic centre where you'll see more locals dining. I do not recommend taking your car into the centre as the roads are very narrow - park up outside and simply walk - it's quite compact.

As far as VillaPlus is concerned, there was a dearth of reviews before we booked. I am happy to report that their service was very good. We picked up the car at the airport without a hitch and the directions to the villa were easy to decipher. There was a comprehensive information pack; welcome pack of basic rations (including wine) and a Rep on hand (though we never met him).

The island itself is beautiful. It has stunning scenery and lots of interesting things to see and do. It certainly demands more than one trip to do it justice and we will certainly return. Must dos: the spectacular train ride to Soller from Palma and Palma city itself which is compact and culturally rich with great shops (though I was whisked past most of them).
