There were one or two very minor niggles with this property, which is why I haven't described it as perfect, however when out on our penultimate nght I asked the others (wife, 2 teenagers and one adult child) what we should give it they all said, without hesitation but with great emphasis FIVE, so there we go.
I only mention the little niggles because someone else might be as picky as me and when they find that the place isn't 100% perfect, might consider this review misleading. Having said that, they were so minor and didn't detract from a wonderful experience, I'm not even going to say what they were.
The first thing to say is that Maite was an incredibly lovely and helpful host, both before and during our stay. Since booking, our eldest had developed a lung problem which makes it unwise to fly, so he travelled by train and boat.......on our last day, as 4 of us headed for the airport, Maite herself took the other to Alcudia port as we were not finding it easy to book hm a taxi.
The location, for us, was fantastic. We didn't have a car, but we found the walk into town manageable and interesting, even for a frail, decrepit old geezer like me. The first part was along very quiet roads, almost tracks more than roads, past little fields with geese chickens horses, goats, donkeys, all sorts, and with views of the mountains at every turn. In a couple of weeks it will be a scrumpers paradise with all sorts of fruit trees en route.
It's probably about 20 minutes into town, but halfway there, just on the edge of town by Punt Roma is a little bar, and it is a wonedrfull little bar and is highly recommended to break the journey and slake the thirst. Also just by there are two very handy little shops and a bit further on a fantastic bakery, so you don't ever really need to go to Eroski .
The Villa itself is fantastic for a grouo such as ours, with many little nooks and crannies for the teens to retreat to.
The pool is great, is a good size and gets the sun all day long, and the sitting/ barbecue area at the back is also great, as is the secret shower in the back yard.
Sitting at the front of the house at night is great, with the lights on the pool and the silhouette of the mountains, underneath an incredibly starry sky.
The kitchen is good. Everything works, is easy to figure out and is well equipped, not that we used it much, other than to get another drink from the fridge.
The bedrooms are a good size, have much needed air conditioning and the beds are comfortable.
We had a fantastic week here, very much aided by Maites kindness throughout, and I wouldn't hesitate to return. We stayed at a fantastic place in Pollensa 2 years ago and this was every bit as good as that and in some respects better, but at half the price!
