Up on the way to Calvari, so you need to discover this place one of the few still doing local cuisine
We had Paella and Cod Fish ( Bacalao) meatballs, all very simple and delicious. It's not a fancy place and keep the real spirit of real taberna with a cozy terrace on the back. Real friendly staff and a free entry of typical Mallorquin meat was served to us as a starter, Highly appreciated
So I recommend this place if you are in Pollenca

Take yourself away from the main square and head towards the Church (Carrer Monti-sion 17 is the address) It's only 5 mins from the centre square. A small courtyard in the back of the restauraunt is the place to sit and the Frito Mallorquin is to die for. the restauraunt is run by an English lady and her daughter helps in the restaurant and what excellent service we had. The chef is a true master of Mallorcan food and this is what they specialise in. Get away from the hurly burly of the tourist traps and eat some real Mallorcan food. Prices are very reasonable and portions good. Our only disappointment was that we didnt discover this gem of a restauraunt until the last night of our holiday.

We have always meant to try this little restaurant and this year we actually went in. And are so glad we did - we went 3 times during our 2 weeks stay! There is a little courtyard at the rear under lemon trees - and the lemons were all ready to fall -so you were wondering where they would land! We had the set menu which is not extensive but everything was delicious from the soup (one night was quite cold!), salmon and prawn, the pork on a skewer, the chicken Madrilena - all delicious! Also a very generous glass of wine for me and an equally generous Cointreau (on the house). Lovely waiter - I mentioned that I like tea with lemon with my breakfast and the next time we went, there was a basket of lemons on our table to take away! Just a lovely, relaxing, unpretentious restaurant and so glad we eventually went in!!

How does a restaurant that is tucked away in a back street compete with a dozen or so in the main square nearby?

The answer is by providing quality traditional cooking, at affordable prices, with excellent service.

The rustical setting inside and on the terrace in the shade under a fruit tree provide the ambience.

We enjoyed the green peppers as a starter and the suckling pig, and veal in a port sauce as main dishes. Majorcan wines, both red and white, are the real surprise having improved dramatically in recent decades, as is the trend in so many other wine growing areas world wide.

We finished our enjoyable meal with a local herbal digestive offered by the house.
