“Gem in the quiet corner of main square.”
Reviewed September 29, 2013 via mobile

€14 three course fixed price menu didn't need huge portions to be excellent. Paella on next table smelled lovely too. Decent house wine too.
Relaxed, fairly attentive service. In the larger, lower corner of the main 'square', a cool spot to people watch.

“Why is this restaurant not rated higher???”
Reviewed September 18, 2013

5/6 years ago we travelled to Pollensa as a couple and ate at this restaurant twice in a week. The food was excellent and the service top notch. So when we travelled back to Pollensa this year with our son, daughter in law and baby we naturally returned to the restaurant.

We were not disappointed. They now have a set 14€ meal which is absolutely amazing value for money. The first meal we had was from the set menu and the food was very good. On our last evening we ate from the a la carte menu and the meal was more than amazing. The lamb was out of this world!!

I think this is a very underrated restaurant in a great location just slightly to the side of the central square. Food and service are excellent. Should we return to Mallorca and Pollensa we will certainly eat at this restaurant again.

“Try the luxuriously huge shoulder of lamb”
Reviewed September 12, 2013

When the restaurant of the Cal Lloro Hotel next door is closed on a Monday lunchtime and evening, I strongly recommend trying the Posada d’Ariant, where you can sit outdoors in the busy main square of the delightful market town of Pollenca. This restaurant is cosily tucked away in one corner of the busy main square and it serves snacks and tapas during the daytime as befits all the local cafés.
With an extensive menu of local and international dishes and an adequate wine list, you will not be disappointed. One main course that is certainly not available at the majority of the numerous restaurants in the neighbourhood is the Paletilla de Cordero Asada, a braised shoulder of lamb with a selection of potatoes and local vegetables. A real treat, especially if you have worked up a good appetite during the afternoon. This is a copious dish served piping hot. Try this with a glass or two of the excellent Rioja tinto (a full-bodied red wine from the Spanish mainland). The prices are not extravagantly high, but a little above the average run-of-the-mill establishment serving only tapes and burgers. This is to be expected, since the preparation of the food and the presentation put this restaurant into a different class altogether. The main dish I mention (the lamb) is priced this September at €17.75 and the wine at €4.00 per generous glass. The service is more than adequate and both the waiters I met speak very good English, but they do appreciate it if you make an attempt to communicate at least a little in Spanish.
You can of course try the traditional tapas as a starter of even as a main course, the prices depending on the quantity you order. Try the squid rings with a glass of local dry white wine, or the whitebait (small whole fish rapidly deep-fried). Or again, the grilled gambas with a little garlic. Every dish is freshly prepared and always served with a smile. A real pleasure.

By the way, a previous reviewer who did not appreciate this restaurant surely came on a bad day, or was confusing the locality with some other place.
