Just back from a two night stay and what a wounderful stay it was. It all starts the moment you pull up at the door, the staff are so welcoming they parked the car and we did not see it until we were leaving. Checked in and off to our room, the room was quite large and had a beautiful bathroom. We then had a great lunch in the bar. The restaurant was excellent and again the staff are top class. We had treatments in the spa and were treated like royalty. Another good thing was that phones were a no no and the peace and quite was just fab. If you are looking for a spa this is the place.

Everyone should experience this resort at some stage in their lives. I wouldn't have considered myself as a person who would enjoy this type of break. All I can say is I never thought that level of relaxation existed! We stayed for two nights in this amazing location. The rooms are like apartments (in size), the staff couldn't do enough got us and the food was amazing. I'm back now two days and I still feel totally relaxed. I can't wait to go back.

Go on treat yourself you won't regret it!!

We had a lovely nights stay at Monart. The staff are excellent, really well trained and enthusiastic. The grounds, the spa and the rooms in the hotel are magnificent. The bar food is lovely and the breakfast was top class. However 2 simple things really bugged me that can so easily be fixed....
1. No wifi in rooms...I get the whole spa retreat thing but wifi in all hotela rooms is a must in 2013.
2. The tv in room. The room is magnificent but the tv was small, poor sound quality and had only basic channels and radio.

In room facilities are important and I think that even though Monart is a spa resort, there is still a need to have these facilities.

Dear Rob D,

Many thanks for your review of your time with us here at Monart. We are delighted that you enjoyed your time with us here, and your commendations, particularly regarding our staff are very much appreciated.

With regard internet access here at Monart, we very much focus on the renewal and rejuvenating benefits of 'Spa time' and therefore, encourage our guests to digitally detox as it were. That said we do appreciate that sometimes there are essential emails etc.

To that end we do have ISDN line connection in all of our Bedrooms and indeed complimentary WIFI in our Old House Conservatory and Library.

We very much hope that we have the opportunity of welcoming you again in the future.

Just arrived back after a wonderful two night stay at Monart (stayed 26/27 Jan 2013). We had been looking forward to this break away for a long time and we were worried that it would not live up to our anticipated expectations. Needless to say it exceeded them.

On arrival, as others have stated your experience starts as soon as you pull up to the gates, where you are buzzed in and your car is taken and parked for you and your bags arrive at your room a few minutes later. All the staff were exceptionally pleasant and willing to help you with all your needs.

The rooms are very spacious, spotlessly clean and the bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. You are encouraged to spend as much time as possible in your robe and slippers (both provided) which adds to the relaxation feeling.

For breakfast there is a large selection of fruits, cold meats, cereals, pastries, smoothies etc to choose from and once done with this you can choose from a delightful selection from the breakfast menu (Irish breakfast (large and small), omelets, smoked salmon to name a few)

We had dinner on both nights in the main restaurant and it was simply sublime, 7 course (amuse bouche, starter, sorbet, main course, dessert / cheese board, tea/coffee). The waiting staff were fantastic, a special note to Aoife who went above and beyond for us both nights (thanks again Aoife!)

Each of us had 2 hot stone massages and again they were fantastic and along with the excellent thermal suite and the complementary foot massages we left feeling extremely relaxed.

The only ( very small) gripe I would have would be that there is no minibar in the room, however room service is available 24 hours a day.

All in all we came away on cloud 9 and could not of asked for a better relaxing weekend and are looking forward to our next visit, would highly recommend it to everyone!

Having heard so much about Monart I decided to book a weekend in January as a present for my partner, and we were not disappointed.

We were pleasantly greeted from out journey at the gate by the house informing us over the intercom that no kids were allowed. When we drove to the door the concierge greeted us, took our bags and car keys and showed us into the magnificent house, through the glass walkway and to reception.

In reception we received complimentary brownies as we waited to be checked in and shown to our room. The rooms are amazing, big and spacious.

We ate in the main restaurant on our first night, and I would strongly recommend it. We eat out a lot and this is definitely better than most meals we have in restaurants in Dublin! The service is excellent and all staff friendly. The hotel of course cater well for calicoes, and upon request they provide gluten free bread.

The spa is very beautiful and extremely relaxing. we came back from our trip truly refreshed and rejuvenate!

From the moment you press the buzzer at the gate you know that you are entering a haven..

A short drive up to the old house & you are greeted by one of the porters who takes your car keys parks your car & has your bags delivered to the room.

Check in was very quick & the lady on reception was very friendly. The complimentary brownie went down a treat with my husband. We were informed that we could borrow DVDs from reception for later on & if we needed anything just to give a call.

We started off with an amazing detox cocktail in the garden restaurant. I had the "lip smacker" it was divine. Following this we had reservations for afternoon tea. This was such a treat that we booked it for the second day aswell. (we were a little disappointed the second day as there was a maintenance guy fixing a light switch in the room where we had the afternoon tea until half 3 so that kind of killed the moment a little. Really it could have been done earlier in the day as afternoon tea only starts at 3pm).

The spa is amazing. Our favourite rooms were the sanarium, caldarium & steam room & salt grotto. I have chronic sinus issues so these really helped me a lot.
We both had a serenity back massage. I think it was a little less serenity & a little more therapeutic. Both my husband & I are trained massage therapists. The techniques used seemed a little outdated i.e. using elbows/arms over bone. I had quite a lot of pain the day after my massage. The massage room was amazing though & the hot towel at the end & hot slippers were a really nice touch.

We ate in the table d'hote restaurant on the first night there was a really food variety of food. The amuse bouche & sorbet palette cleanser was a nice touch. The wine was a bit of a let down though. The cheapest bottle of red was €30. It was Chilean & not great at all. I think the next bottle up was €45 which I thing is crazy money to be paying for wine in this day & age.

The breakfast was really good. A huge selection of healthy options on the buffet I had wheat free muesli with pumpkin seeds both mornings & the eggs benedict as hot food which was delicious. It was clear that the eggs were definitely organic.

We went back to sleep after breakfast & the blackout blinds were perfect to help achieve this. We had a great snooze & woke at 12 for another detox cocktail & our massages at 13.30 then the whole day in the spa.

The rooms are huge with a well equipped bathroom with a bath. The pillows were a let down (feather & down is not very supportive for a side sleeper)

We would have liked to have gone for a bite in the garden restaurant on the second night but last orders are 19.30??? Monart it would be brilliant if you could extend this to 20.30 even? The spa closes at 8pm.
We weren't able for another 3 course meal in the table d'hote restaurant on the second night so it just leaves you with a choice of room service.. The wine on the room service list was also bad so we opted not to have any which was a disappointment as I love a nice glass of cab sav.

Anyway the little glitches didn't ruin our stay. We had a fabulous time & we can't wait to go back again. This really is a quality 5 star hotel

Room Tip: To avoid the ducks squabbling in the morning at 6am choose an odd number room if possible

Myself and three of my girlfriends spent 2 nights at Monart and I have to say it was the ultimate girls get away weekend. We booked the spa weekend off, which was 2 nights B&B with 1 evening meal, full use of the spa and a treatment. It did seem a little pricey for just a weekend but turned out to be worth it. The service is excellent but there is still a very layed back and down to earth attitude from the staff which I found refreshing. The rooms are beautiful and the beds, although a small single were extremely comfortable. The bathroom was huge, a large sperate bath and big shower along with the heated floor. The food both room service and in the restruant was very good and breakfast was truly excellent. The spa is also of a very high standard and easy to pass away the time in the steam room, pool or the Swedish out door sauna.

There's not much negitive i can say about this place, probably they only point was that it was possible to hear anyone who happened to walk by your room, the sound proofing could have been abit better. Didn't add to the relaxing atmosphere but easy enough to get over.

I would really recommend Monart for a relaxing get away, great for the girls or a romantic couple weekend if your man would appreciate being pampered.

Can't wait to go back.
