Stayed here for 3 night break. The staff are fantastic, you would not find better in a 5* hotel. Great base for touring, but a lovely town in its own right also. Rooms spotless with everything you need, even an ironing board and iron. Will definitely be going back.

The staff were amazing, they really helped make our stay fantastic, the little town is gorgeous. We went as part of a hen party also and the night life was brillant and there was so much detail put into everything! Could not fault them for anything

Spent four nights here as part of a National Holiday coach tour and I don't know why anyone has made negative comments. The hotel is excellent, food was very good and the staff, especially Duty Manager Andre, and the dining room staff went out of their way to be helpful. As part of a tour we did sit with fellow travellers, as is usual, but we kept the same seats throughout. The menus catered for everyone and there was plenty of choice and all food was delicious and well presented.

Guests who were not on our tour ate in the dining room but in an area set aside for them.

We were in a room at the front and yes it was a bit noisy from road traffic but this didnt stop us getting a good nights sleep, the beds were comfortable, linen clean, room tidy and clean too. (To the reviewer who commented that the skirting boards were dirty I would ask how clean are theirs in their own home! What a petty thing to look for when on holiday where rooms have to be quickly cleaned for fast turnaround of guests!)

Each night there was entertainment which was enjoyable, we were given an opportunity to make a Guinness cake and to pull a pint of Guinness too which was fun for those who participated and even more fun for those of us who watched.

If anyone didn't want to spend evenings in the bar there are comfortable sofas in a quieter lounge area.

wi fi is free but I couldn't access wifi in our room but it was available in the lounge area, I understand other guests didn't have the same problem in their rooms however. I mentioned it to reception and they tried to help but the wifi signal wasn't good enough in our room for some reason.

The hotel is situated in a small town where there is a castle and museum, riverside walk, as well as various shops. It is about an hour and half from the ferry port and a good base to explore Dublin and the Wicklow mountains.

We didn't use the spa as this is not in the hotel but across the road in the leisure complex so can't comment on this.

Would we return? Yes we would but only in summer as there are only two ferries a day in winter which meant we had to leave the hotel at 5.30 am on the day of departure. This, however, is the only negative thing about the trip and the nice thing was that we were able to pre order a packed lunch from the hotel for our long journey.

So ignore the negative comments on previous reviews, I am an experienced traveller and found nothing bad about Treacys!

Just returned from a five day break at this hotel. I had read mixed revues before we travelled but I can honestly say we could not fault the place. The room was good, clean and roomy. Even though we requested a room for three people the beds were all the same with not with just a put me up that had been added. The staff were very friendly and obliging and the food excellent. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone.

stayed at Treacys for 4 nights as part of a coach trip and it great. check in was easy and our cases were even brought to rooms by staff. the rooms are very clean with comfy beds and nice bathrooms. smoking rooms are available if requested in advance. the corridors are strangely lit with dull green lights, not sure why but that is a bit weird! the food was lovely. breakfast was plentiful- eggs, bacon, potatoes, white pudding, sausages, tomatoes beans as well as continental breakfast. evening meal was served to table and was really good. varied choices on a set menu and the quality and quantity was superb. the homemade soups are delicious. main courses vary from traditional irish fare to the more exotic and the desserts are yummy! we were stuffed. nothing is too much trouble for the staff and they are consistently helpful and friendly from reception to the restaurant to the bar staff. I cant praise the staff enough as they really do make the hotel what it is. the bar has entertainment on a night. they were good and sang a varied mix of songs. they added to the great atmosphere. all in all this hotel and its wonderful staff made a great holiday even better.

Room Tip: there is a disco on a sunday night which goes on quite late so a higher room can dull the noise
