Where can you look out your bedroom window and discover castle ruins? You can do that here. Pierce, the owner was very knowledgeable about the house and the surrounding area since he was born there. He is the 7th generation living in the same home. The rooms are a good size, breakfast was delicious, and the location was perfect. We left Dublin at 2:00 in the afternoon. Pierce suggested a wonderful place to have dinner, the "Horse and Jockey" in Thurles. The only item I would put as a negative was CASH ONLY.

Room Tip: Ask for a room over looking the castle ruin.

We had a wonderful time here and wish we could have stayed more than one night. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. He in particular made sure to suggest sites to see in the area, took time to know where we were going and provided us with pamphlets. He was also very easy to talk to and told us all about the history of the property. Our room was very comfortable and we had a view of the tower just outside. We would definitely stay here again.

The hosts are amazing, super accommodating. Rooms were deluxe and super clean. Food was delicious. They also made it an experience, not just a hotel stay. A MUST visit. Joan was also fantastic. Ask about history of The town name

We felt like Royalty! From the moment you drive in and first view this lovely house and lush grounds and then walking in - WOW!! You will love this place, it truly is worth a visit. Joan and Pierce are affable hosts full of local information and will point you in the right direction. The furnishings are plush throughout the house. Personal touches in your room, tea, cookies, bottle water. We felt like we were dining at Downton Abbey for breakfast! Ample portions, wonderful Irish cheeses, huge array of pastries and jams, perfectly cooked eggs and that amazing Irish bacon! Just so very yummy. You must stay there!
