“Like visiting your Grandmum”

This spacious and historic home had plenty of space for a large crowd. Though it is filled with antiques, it has a homey feel that leads to nights cozied around the fireplace and big breakfast gatherings around the kitchen table. Our family of 7 had plenty of room to spread out, or gather together in one place. The grounds are beautiful, even in the winter. Waking to the view out our bedroom window over the rolling countryside was a treat every morning whether rain or shine. The location was perfect for daytrips to Galway, Cliffs of Moher, Killarney - all under 1.5 hours. Cashel, Cahir and Cork all about 1 hour. Bunratty and Limerick are about .5 hours. Just a few miles away is the town of Charleville with Lidl, Aldi and many other shops and pubs, convenient for anything you need. But the best part of staying at this home are the owners, Margaret and Dick, who live in an apartment on site. They treat you with warmth and concern like loving family from the moment you arrive. We hope to return just to visit with them!

“A warm welcome to a beautiful house”
Reviewed September 2, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

This is a large Georgian house in rural Limerick and staying there really did make us feel like Lords of the Manor. Nearly every room was grand in scale with lots of homely, comfortable furniture- our bed was the most comfortable we had ever slept in. The house was well equipped with everything we needed for our stay including wifi to keep the teenagers happy. The icing on the cake was the welcome we received from Margaret and Dick, the owners who live in a cottage close to the property. They were attentive but unobtrusive and Margaret's scones were to die for. We look forward to returning one day.

“Unbelievably Beautiful & Convenient”

This is an incredible property! The bedrooms are big, bright, clean and all but one has private bath. Out every giant window is a postcard view. The owners live nearby and are ready to help with anything you could want - but will leave you be if you prefer (brought us over delicious home-baked scones just to be neighborly & even moved our son's clothes off the line one day when it had started to rain while we were out). We had nine in all - a family of 4 and a family of 5, little kids and teenagers. All had plenty of space, room to play or a spot to sit quietly with a pint of beer or a hot tea or coffee. Charleville is nearby for shopping and the N20 up the road will get you quickly on your way to all the region's attractions. After a day driving around the countryside, what is better than coming home to a beautiful house, building a fire in one of the fireplaces, maybe drawing a bath in one of the deep tubs, grabbing a beer from the fridge and plotting the next day's adventure?
