Brought my kids up for a go on the trails, tried the easy 5 k trail,

Both kids managed it fine tricky on places but the layout bridges ramps berms etc made it possible.

Kids enjoyed it will be going again

If you have a mountain bike already this place is exceptionally good value for a day out-however rental prices are steep if you don't own a bike.
Great well marked trails - worth a visit

Just back from a brilliant days cycling on the Ballyhoura Mountain Biking trails, it is my fourth timer here and it is great to see that they have kept the trails from falling into disrepair. There are a good variety of routes on offer and a well run bike hire shop www.trailriders.ie on site. The day can work out a bit pricy with 5 euro charge for parking and €35 - €50 for a days quality bike hire if you don't have your own but overall it is well worth it.
The riding is mainly on stone based single track, some is smooth and flowing but bits are rocky and rooty. There are some short board walk sections which can be a bit daunting in the wet - I.e. always. I just need to find somewhere for a decent post ride meal now.

The best selection of single track on the Emerald Isle, nothing like it. Dublins trails don't even come close to this. if you have the time and want to enjoy the best of open country and forest trails this is the place to go.. the best trails are on the bigger loops further out. Might be a bit of a ride, but you will be well rewarded, so challenge yourself, it's really worth it.The trails are well maintained and even in the wet, enjoyable. When you finish, enjoy a shower back at the car park area, give the biek a hose down, and grab a cuppa T or coffee from the guys at 'Trailriders'. I really hope they develope more trails here as it will only further enhance an awesome Irish experience.. Go enjoy...
