“The very best location.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2013

I cannot think of any better location in Nafplio. Very friendly couple who run this B&B. We asked for a room with a balcony and were very pleased to be offered the one with two. Very nice to walk down the few stairs in the morning, have a chat with Ms & Mr, put your fresh breakefast at your tray and bring it back to eat at the balcony watching the town come to live one story below. Fresh orange juice and home made jam were always offered.

Room Tip: The purple room is the one with balcony, not only one but two.

We loved this place! Why? Well, the rooms are large and quite beautiful thanks to Marina's extraordinary taste! Wonderful bathroom with an extraordinary shower cabin. Very quiet. And the location could not possibly be better; in the old town, just two blocks from the harbor. And only a 5 minute walk from the start of the 1000 steps up to the castle.

Our room, Cassiopeia, had two balconies where we could sit and read in the late afternoons.

Breakfast, complete with fresh orange juice and boiled eggs and fresh pastries was a treat.

And Nafplion is a dream of a town; very sophisticated, with marble sidewalks, excellent restos, and reeking with history!

Perhaps the best kept secret of Nafplion is its swimming; the small beach only 10 minutes away, is equipped with swimming ladders bolted onto the rocks allowing easy access to the sparkling sea!

But we will only return to Nafplion if Marina and Paniotis can find room for us! They are truly remarkable innkeepers; nothing is too much trouble for them. They not only found a masseuse for my wife, but Marina insisted on personally escorting her to the appointment for fear Nikki might get lost on the way! On the day we left, Paniotis insisted on arriving at the inn an hour early to make us a farewell breakfast. They found us the best guides; they pointed us toward the best restaurants. They were terrific!

Room Tip: All the rooms are great, but we particularly loved Cassiopeia, a large corner room on the second flo...

I have stayed in many pensions in Naflion & this was perhaps the best. Good central location in the old town, near the parking in the harbour. No steps to reach it, though, as nearly all pensions in Naflion are in listed buildings and lifts are not allowed, one has to climb a flight of stairs to reach the rooms. Breakfast was possible in the rooms but there is a cosy area in the small reception where the owners offer a wide selection of food....& as many cups of coffee that we could down!. A delightful & helpful couple with a good command of English. The rooms are clean & well appointed, featuring traditional antique furniture. I chose a room at the back with a sweet "secret garden" not overlooked by anyone. My friends took the junior suite that has 2 balconies. Admittedly one did face the back of another building, but the second offered a view down the lane to the sea.
Naflion is worth a visit at any time of the year.

I reviwed this hotel after a stay in 2010. Everything I said then, I would repeat now and fully recommend it. Amazingly, the owners recognised us and could even recall our travel companions at the time. Excellent value and a very comfortable bed (not always guaranteed in Geece) and a hearty breakfast.

Room Tip: Kyfaias (spelling?) is very quiet and has a small private patio.

Free parking at the municipal parking lot on the bay next to the al fresco restaurants, then a 2, 2 1/2 block walk to the hotel. Convenient! Centrally located, we were literally within minutes of the top sights, and under a minute to more dining and drinking options. A great square nearby was relaxing each evening. The owners clearly care. I didn't have any problems, but we felt comfortable that if one had come up, they would have handled it immediately. The room was average sized, with a 5-6 jet shower with plenty of hot water, so nice to luxuriate in. The bathroom was a little larger than several we stayed in, though the shower area was similar (i.e., fairly small). The 10 plus foot ceilings and balcony were a nice touch. Breakfast was delicious! Each morning there appeared coffee, homemade jams, jellies, breads, hard boiled eggs, juices, plus the usual meats and cheese. The room was cleaned spotlessly each night. We unfortunately had to cut our stay short a night, as we would have really liked to continue enjoying the quaint seaside town and having such a comfortable place to return to each evening. Thanks, Andromeda!

We arrived in a NOT very good mood. The arrival day and the next were ruined because of the strike at the national historical sites. We both have had to work hard over our careers and have only been rewarded on our accomplishments, not the fact that we have been hired and have hundreds of other workers to picket with and for us. To travel thousands of miles and spend thousands of dollars to sit around and miss historical sites due to these strikes is VERY frustrating. Maybe all these sites should be privatized and then they would be run well and within budget.
All that said, when we arrived at Andromeda we were grumpy. The owners recognized this and pampered us. Thank you. Now to the review. Nafpilo is a great town and worthy of visiting on its own. We really enjoyed our visit here. This property is located right in the middle of the "action" which can be good and bad. Our experiences were good. We were here when it wasn't that busy so the noise level was not bad at all. This is located just a couple/few blocks off the water so the parking is convenient, the shops and restaurants really close, and it would be easy to stumble home if you were out having a nightcap or two. The rooms are spacious and we had two balconies with tables and chairs. These people care and it shows. We think this is a good value and location.

Room Tip: Sorry, I accidentally clicked on the swimming pool ---- they do not have a pool.

We cannot recommend the Andromeda Hotel highly enough; it is in the heart of the Old Town but only a 3 minute walk from ample free parking on the harbour front.

At reception we met Maria and Paniotti, the owners. A superior room was available so we were upgraded with no fuss. Ours was a corner room with a balcony on each side complete with a table and two chairs on each which overlooked the narrow walkways between the properties.
Then complementary coffee and cake was brought to the room again no fuss.
Our room was very spacious and the furniture was to a good standard the beds very comfortable and the bathroom was modern. The young lady who cleans keeps them spotless.
Breakfast could be taken in your room or down in reception which was our choice, Maria supplied a good choice along with some of her own home made products.
Nothing was too much trouble for this couple who were happy to talk at breakfast and offer some valuable insight into the area… a genuinely lovely couple.
We will return again on our next visit.

The hotel has its own very good website which I recommend everyone to look at, also contact the hotel direct for some very good deals. www.andromeda-pension.com
