Aetoma Hotel consists of only five rooms in a tastefully converted town house located on a pretty little square in Nafplio’s old town, just enough removed from the main pedestrian streets to be quiet, and yet easily convenient to everything. It is run by a mother and son, Panagiota and Akis. Panagiota was actually born in the house, and both she and Akis make a sincere effort to help you enjoy their home and their town. While not being at all intrusive, they will make sure that your room is completely comfortable, provide guidance on which restaurants might suit your own tastes, provide tips on planning excursions. If you can manage two flights of interior stairs, ask for the large top-floor room. It’s well worth the extra cost. Its outstanding feature is a large, private roof terrace, from which you have a view over rooftops towards Akronafplia and Palmidi hills. Panagiota will bring serve you her scrumptious breakfast there, including croissants, omelet, fruit salad and yoghurt, and her own home-baked cakes!

Room Tip: Ask for top floor.

We stayed at this beautifully restored mansion for two nights. I wished we had stayed longer. There are five rooms - four on the second floor and one on the top floor, which is where we stayed. The Akokeramo room, as the rest of the hotel, is elegantly furnished and every detail is perfect. The terrace is huge, with views of the square down below and the Palamidi Castle above.

The hospitality provided by owner, Pan Antonopoulou, and her son, Akis was outstanding. The moment you arrive they are scurrying around hepling park your car in the small square in front of the hotel. Then you are offered a beverage and provided with a detailed, marked map of Nafplio with sights to see and restaurants. Akis is available ALL DAY to help you with directions to sightseeing around the Peloponnese and information about his beloved city.

The breakfasts are immense. The food just keeps coming. I cannot imagine anyone has ever been hungry after breakfast there. We could have had our breakfast on our 3rd floor terrace, but I did not want to have Pan carry everything up the long flight of steps - especailly after seeing what breakfast included. We started out with fresh fruit salad, yogurt, fresh squeezed orange juice, and coffee; then came omelets, bacon, sausages, sliced lunch meat and cheese, a bread basket filled with rolls and croissants, phyllo pastries, cakes, home made preserves, honey and cookies. We barely touched half of the offerings. All of this is served to you at your individual table. Everything we tried was delicious.

Pan was raised in this house (mansion) - which was converted in to the present hotel. She was responsible for the tasteful design and decorations.

I cannot imagine finding this hotel without a GPS. It is a bit tricky and the streets you have to drive on are VERY small. Do not rent a large car if you plan to drive here.. Also, it is not a place for someone who cannot climb steps. Reception and four of the rooms are one long flight of stairs up and the best room, on the top floor, is an additional flight of stairs.

We would love to return to this hotel. The hotel itself is beautiful, but it is the mother and son who run the hotel who really make it the exceptional hotel it is.

Room Tip: Top floor - Akrokeramo room - the best!

We started our Greek vacation in Nafplio. Aetoma was a great home base to explore the various sites close by. Run by a mother/son, we were made to feel part of the family, with personalized service and a genuine concern for our comfort and well being. Top 3 items I look for in a hotel- comfortable beds, quality shower, and location. Aeotma hits all three. The rooms were clean and modern, with a balcony overlooking the church. Since the Aetoma only has a few rooms, you will feel like you are part of a family. Breakfast is served per table, and the quantity of food is overwhelming. The owner speaks perfect English, and can help you plan you sightseeing and excursions, or book a ferry to an island destination. Parking can be somewhat of a challenge, as the hotel does not have private parking, and the street to get to the hotel is verrrry tight!!
The town of Nafplio is wonderful. It is completely surrounded by orange groves and mountains, nestled along the coast, with beautiful views in all directions- don't miss it!

Room Tip: make sure you ask for a room facing the square/church

This small hotel in the old city is everything a hotel should be and more. Beautifully furnished rooms, spotless, comfortable, charming, with kind and helpful proprietors. The breakfast was sumptuous - creamy yoghurt, fresh fruit, eggs prepared just for us, squeezed orange juice, and bakery treats to die for. Best breakfast I ever ate!

Nafplio is a beautiful seaside small town with lovely winding streets , lined with small stores and cafe's and restaurants. The Aetoma is a lovely small (5 rooms) well run family hotel situated in a beautiful street close to the water.
We stayed in the top floor suite. Through the room french windows and wrap around terrace you grasp a perfect view of the Palimidi fortress. There is no lift on this property but the owners will promptly carry your luggage to your room. The room is beautifully decorated with a comfortable king size bed, an armoire, a desk a reading chair, robes, slippers. The room is fully equipped with absolutely everything you could possibly need in toiletries, towels, hairdryer. The shower is fantastic. It is a multi pressure nozzle shower with a skylight. There is free WiFi.
The breakfast is exquisite and made to order. Basket of assorted fresh breads, local honey, yogurt, fresh fruits, omelets, bacon..simply sumptuous.
The owners, mother and son, ensure that you have a fantastic perfect stay. They will provide maps, suggestions and will even call the attraction to make sure of the hours of business.
This is the most perfect small hotel we have ever stayed at.

Room Tip: Stay in the top floor suite, it is beautiful!!

We booked this following the good reviews on Tripadvisor. We were not disappointed! There are 5 rooms in this hotel. We were in the upper floor - the room has a veranda and a terrace where wonderful breakfasts are served. Although the building is very old and set in the narrow streets of the old town, it is beautifully furnished and has modern facilities (air-conditioniing, TV, fridge and en-suite shower).

The hotel is run by a mother and son and they are superb hosts. We got a detailed map with recommendations of tourist attractions and eating places and lots of helpful advice (including not to walk up to the Palamadi fortess but to drive). We were greeted every time we entered or left with helpful advice about the town.

Breakfasts are wonderful!

The town is beauiful and well worth a visit. There is lots of parking at the port just 3 minutes walk away. You can park at the hotel but it is a very small square so it might be better to drop your luggage off and then move the car. The owners will email directions to you.

We would love to return here.

Room Tip: The top floor (lost appartmnt) is superb

Outstanding hospitality in a beautifully restored period home. Our two night stay was made memorable by the genuinely personalised service which included (on arrival) a map of the town hand annotated with places of interest & restaurant recommentations, etc., delicious home made cakes and tea (and on returning from our day out) - and best of all the enormous, irresistably delicious breakfasts served on our balcony. Nothing was too much trouble, we were offered take out breakfasts if we wanted an early start, given information and assistance with booking our next destination. The location is perfect for exploring on foot, in the centre of town. Good sized, comfortable and traditionally furnished room, cute balcony overlooking the narrow street. Parking in the square or nearby. Good, free wi fi. All in all a great place to stay and excellent value for money.

Room Tip: There is a steep flight of stairs up to the hotel "foyer" and rooms on first floor, a furt...
