“Weekend at Aetoma”
Reviewed January 22, 2013

The service was very good and the owners really friendly. The location of the hotel is perfect (in the centre of Nafplio)

However, the rooms and the hotel didn't meet the expactations I had from the reviews I had read.
The baths are small. The rooms are nice, but nothing special and not very big. Most of rooms do not have a view. We would like some more privacy.

Look no further than Aetoma Hotel when booking your lodging in Nafplio. This great bed and breakfast caters to all your needs and the splendid mother & son duo who run it will take care of you very well. They are attentive to detail and extremely generous. (They baked us a pie on New Year's Eve and saved parking spots for us.) The rooms are quite large for European standards and very clean - they are cleaned every morning. The breakfast is to die for - cereals, various breads and pastries, eggs, and traditional greek yogurt and spanakopita. All in all, your best bet for a hotel in Nafplio.

This was my 2nd time at Aetoma. I came last year with a cousin and returned this year with my fiancé just after Christmas. I could not wait for him to see Aetoma. We were welcomed by Akies and Panagiotia, who remembered me though I'd only been there one night last year. We were greeted with hugs and smiles that almost made me cry! The hotel is beautiful, even with the steep stairs to the top floor. The view is worth the climb though! And breakfast.....the best in all of Greece. It is truly like being at a family home and you feel love and warmth. I hope to return often and wish them all the best.

This is a wonderfully run, well located, superb decor etc hotel. If you read other reviews you may ask can a small, mother and son-run hotel really be this good? The answer is yes. Even before you arrive you get special attention like driving directions. When you still get lost you are brought to the hotel personally. You want it - you get it. I could say more but the other reviewers say it all. Save yourself more time and just book this hotel.

Room Tip: Loved our view of the castle and I'm sure other rooms have nice views too.

We stayed for the second time (and for sure not the last!) in Aetoma. The lovely welcome, where you are remembered makes a big difference. A glas of wine in our lovely room upon arrival set the scene. Then a great breakfast again in the morning completed it. So even during the rainy December days it was lovely! See you again for sure start 2013.

We spent two nights in this charming, small family-owned hotel. A delicious, generous breakfast was served on our balcony each morning by the delightful owner and her son. We could walk easily down to the seaport, and loved the sound of the church bells from the nearby Orthodox church. The views of the Palamidi Castle were wonderful, as we had the top-floor room. We hope to go back, and this time we'll stay much longer!

We selected this small family hotel in nafplio on the basis of previous recommendations on tripadvisor. It exceeded all our expectations and was among the best bed and breakfast hotels we ever stayed in. It only has 5 rooms and in spite of a mistake I had made in the reservation dates we were given a standard room, which turned out to be very nice- not small, with all mod-cons and a balcony. What makes the hotel exceptional is the hospitality of the owner, Mrs.Panagiota and her son, Akis. The breakfast is luxurious, with eggs, cornfakes, hand-made fresh cakes, fresh orange juice and more. For the day, Panagiota prepares some cakes to take with us and on arrival we received tea and cakes, every day. her son, Akis is a wizard with the PC and helped us booking other hotels, providing route maps and much information on the best restaurants and sites in and around Nafplio. We stayed three days and it made all the difference.
The hotel is very centrally located, if you are lucky you sometimes find parking space in front of the hotel and it has marvellous views of the area.

Room Tip: ask for their superior rooms
