Amfitriti Palazzo Design Hotel
Ranked #1 of 55 Nafplio B&B and Inns
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed May 9, 2011

There are 3 hotels composing the Amfitriti group.
We stayed for one night in "Palazzo" and we had a really perfect time.
The hotel is very clean, friendly, very well decorated, cozy and comfortable.
Together with my wife, we had a superior double room, with private balcony, looking in the front at a wide clear view in the perfect old city and the sea port, whereas in the side there was a small garden with olive trees and orange trees ... Our friend of us stayed at a single room with the same excellent view of the old city...
Both rooms had jaccuzzi, big LCD TV and all other modern comforts...
Its location is ideal !!! Whilst it is situated high enough in the old city, so as it offers some stunning views of the whole city of Nafplio, on the other hand we had to pass 10-20 big stairs and 5 mins easy walk in order to reach at every central point of the city...
Braeakfast was american buffet, tasty, including variety of pies and sweets.
The cost / value was very satisfactory for both rooms and certainly we are going to prefer Amfitriti Palazzo if we ever come again at Nafplio !!! It was a really memorable weekend !!! Nafplio is one of the most romantic places in Greece...

Room Tip: Room with view !!! Old city is amazing ...

At the beginning of this month, my wife and I spent a few days at the Amfitriti Palazzo hotel. We got there by chance, because the hotel we had intended to stay had no vacancies. How fortunate this was for us we only realised when we decided to stay at the Palazzo. This wonderfully situated hotel has all the amenities one could wish for, plus a very friendly staff.. The rooms have design furniture, a marvellous bath room, balconies with stunning views, there is a very comfortable lounge, and a beautiful breakfast is included in the room rate, which, by the way, is very reasonable.
We can mention only one drawback: the hotel is a bit hard to find, it is not signposted at all! Something for the management to see to. The best way to find it: follow signs to Marianna Pension, go to their upper level then turn left for 30 meters. If you come by car it's even easier than this: Drive to the old Xenia hotel on Akronafplio, park there, walk to the parapet, look down and voila!

Room Tip: The upper rooms have the best view.

This delightful address in the centre of the old town is a real gem. My husband and I stayed for two nights - wish it was more - and thoroughly enjoyed it. The rooms are absolutely beautiful, with pretty period furniture and lovely decoration. The bathroom was the highlight: built to (cleverly) encompass an old turkish bath, its ceiling vaults gently while the walls are covered with pretty colourful tiles. Oh, and the breakfast, brought to your room, is superb - locally produced pies, yogurt, and cakes along with jam, corn flakes or muesli (and truly lavish, no human being could eat that much - it's a buffet in it's own right!).
The room looks onto a narrow alley, so you do hear the odd passer-by talking. If you feel that might be a problem, just go for one of the rooms higher up (there's five rooms in total).

Spent three nights here in April. We were booked into the belvedere but were moved to the palazzo (bit vague as to why!).

Hotel is in the old town two minutes from the bustling centre. An amazing view across the old town and harbour, and a roof terrace with views up to the old fortress. Parking is dead easy as there is free on street parking just above the hotel. Phone the owners when you arrive in town and they will guide you in over the phone.

Very friendly staff, a lovely Greek breakfast served until 11. Room very big and a comfortable bed. Powerful shower. No safe in the room.

Lovely

we spent 5 lovely and comfortable nights in the palazzo property. the propritier upgraded us to a superior double room, with a balcony overlooking the old city and aegean - simply breathtaking! the hotel itself is a year and a half old and impeccable, with tastefully decorated rooms which are well appointed and have large, modern baths (we had a jacuzzi tub in ours!). breakfast is included and comprised of freshly baked goods, fabulous yogurt, cereals, cheeses and meats and served in your room, if you like. parking is included and right above the hotel, so if you don't feel like hiking up the hill from town, you can always drive. and did i mention the view?? the property is family run and the staff incredibly warm and helpful - calling archaeological sites for their hours; recommending places to eat and shop as well as what to do in the area. a gem of a place - we would come back in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: rooms on higher levels have great views!

Our group included 3 couples. We stayed one night in Nafplion in the Traditional House. This was a great location to park the car (because if you get a spot you don't want to move it) and explore the old town. There seemed to be only 4 rooms and we took 3 of them. Because each had what at first seemed to be disadvantages, we drew to see who got which room. The first floor was right on the street but no steps. The second floor was up one flight of tight stairs but in the back with no view. The third floor was up two flights of very tight stairs but had a balcony and view of the city. In the end we all loved our rooms, which were decorated in the Greek style. We decided there really were no disadvantages. Breakfast is a short walk on the large patio of the owner’s former house. One word of advice about parking: If you stay in old town – which you should – park you car in a central location then find your hotel/pension. We drove our van down a VERY narrow street with cars parked along the side. Turned out not to be our street. When we got to the end a car was parked in the middle of the road. We had to back up. It turned out be one of the funniest (for all but the driver) and most frustrating events of our whole trip.
