“Nice location with a view”
Reviewed May 25, 2010

We stayed here only one night which was a shame as the central town looked interesting. The pension was perfectly fine with a lovely Greek lady who was very friendly. The room was great with a balcony and view of Napflion below. There was a square nearby where you can park your car and its a short stroll down some steps to the centre of the town and the waterfront. My only problem was the shower water was lukewarm but it was so hot outside that was not a problem. The room also had air conditioning. There was no breakfast but there was a fridge and coffee making facilities.

We followed the advice of Tripadvisor contributors and stayed for 5 nights with the kind and lovely Eleni. She welcomed us warmly. We had a fabulous view over the bay at Nafplio and enjoyed sitting out on the balcony taking it all in. The room was a good size with a fridge and jug for coffee. This was great accommodation at a very reasonable price in a beautiful town.

Eleni was warm and genuine. She really assisted us with our reservations, and special request, via email before our trip. Once we arrived the room was prepared exactly as we had wished. We had a second floor window opening to a perfect view of the bay and the small "bourtzi." The neighborhood was quiet and up on a hill. Free parking was a block away.

Our room included a good sized bathroom, a small entrance area with a closet and refrigerator. Because we had requested an extra cot for our daughter, the room was rather small, but it would have been perfect for a couple.

If you don't like climbing stairs this place is not for you, but we enjoyed walking the narrow car-less streets of old Nauplion and climbing the stone stairs back to our room each night. The location is perfect, the price reasonable, and our host Eleni made us so comfortable as well.

Eleni greeted us as old friends and said goodbye with a warm hug. Loved this woman! Pension Eleni is on a hill overlooking the waterfront with parking closeby. The pension has beautiful wood throughout and personal touches. Makes you feel at home! Open the windows to the warm breeze. The room is very clean and comfortable. A short walk to the city center, which has wonderful shops and restaurants. I loved the city... nicest in Greece! Eleni, if you read this... we will always remember you!

I have just returned from a 3 week stay in Greece. The first 5 days I stayed in Nafplio at the Pension Eleni. I highly recommend this pension. The owner is a lovely lady who is very sweet and helpful. Upon my arrival she made me feel welcome and very comfortable. I was travelling alone so I appreciated the warm welcome.
The room was very clean and comforable with a private bath. The room rates are very reasonable. There was a small balconette with a great view of the sea. A fridge was also provided in the room. Out of all the penisons and hotels I stayed in during my vacation, Pension Eleni was my favourite!
There are however, a lot of steps up to the pension and breakfast was not provided. If I were to go back to Nafplio, I would definitely stay at Pension Eleni again.

  • Liked — Clean, comfortable, affordable
  • Disliked — steps going up to the Pension - would be difficult for elderly or disabled
