As this was a quick overnight stop for us I do not feel I can say much more that: it was clean, pleasant and with good views. Certainly not 10minutes walk from town as claimed though! !! Kardhamili looked like a lovely place

We have just returned from a week’s stay at the Vardia, booking directly with the owners by phone. We took a chance after reading about the hotel on tripadvisor and we couldn't have been more delighted. It made for a perfect stay in Kardamila and we couldn't recommend it more highly. The owners went out of their way to be hospitable and we are longing to go back.

Once again we are staying with the great people at the Vardia Hotel in Kardamili, this time our stay is for almost three weeks, what a perfect base for touring around the beautiful Mani countryside and for discovering little remote coves and beaches. The rooms as always are clean, well equipped (even a small kitchen) with air conditioning that really works, the views down over the village of Kardamili and of the Messini Bay are nothing short of stunning.

In the mornings we like to walk down the many steps at the front of the Vardia down into the village proper, call in at the Fotini Dimitrea shop/supermarket to pick up some breakfast things and then accross by the seasfront and back to the hotel by the access road, really good exercise and so much to see in the village, after this walk a good breakfast goes down perfectly while sitting on the balcony of our room gazing down at the incredible views !

Kardamili itself is a delightful seafront village with so many good places to eat or just to drink a frappe and relax.
Great area of Greece that we love so much, wonderfully friendly and helpful local people and views of mountains, coastlines and the blue blue sea with no peers !

Room Tip: All rooms have stunning sea views, first floor a little better for the views than the ground floor p...

We arrived in Kardamili after driving from Olympia. Needless to say we were exhausted, but what a nice surprise Vardia Hotel was! The views were spectacular, the room was clean and spacious, and the service was excellent. We were supposed to leave the next morning, but opted to stay another night and spend the following day at the beach. We were given loaner beach towels. My husband needed to do laundry and when we asked where to find a laundry the staff offered to do it for us, free of charge! The only down side of the hotel is it's located on a steep hill, which if you drive isn't a problem. We opted to walk to town a few times, and it wasn't that bad plus there was a friendly cat that chaperoned us down the stairs! When checking out we were given a small gift, I won't tell you what it was so it's a surprise when you stay there!

We wanted a base to walk in the Viros Gorge and (based on Tripdvisor reviews) booked 2 nights at the Vardia Hotel the evening before our arrival and ended up staying 3. If we'd had more time we would happily have stayed longer. The location is perfect, up above the old town, west facing overlooking the bay (there is a steepish path that takes you down through gardens to the town and beach in a few minutes). Our self-catering room was well equipped and adequately comfortable, spotlessly clean, good wi-fi and a terrific balcony with the most amazing full frontal sea views. Everyone was friendly and helpful without being obtrusive, you can opt to have breakfast in the small dining room or fend for yourself. We wanted to walk, and oh boy did we get our wish! The hotel is surrounded by a network of well waymarked paths that lead up through olive groves into the mountains and gorges. In April it was a riot of spring flowers and a perfect temperature for walking. A good range of local maps and walking routes available on loan. Lovely pebble beaches & clear sea also a few minutes away on foot. Excellent value for money.

Room Tip: Balcony, front.

A very nice lady working at the pub on main street recommended this place. The owner drove down to get us and we followed her up the hill to this gorgeous place! There was nothing about this place or kardamyli that we didn't like. Everyone was so nice and we could have stayed forever. Our room had 2 sets of french doors that over looked old town and had spectacular views of the coastline. The hotel had steps leading down to old town, the main street and a couple of wine/ food shops. We ate breakfast and dinner at Harilaos where Maria and her waitstaff took excellent care of us. We truly felt like we were guests at her house. She gave my daughter a huge shell that was sitting on the mantel in her restaurant. Thank you Maria! Thank you Vardia Hotel! We can't wait to come back!
