Owner description: A long and pleasant walk along the gorge through breathtaking scenery, past waterfalls, fountains, deserted chapels and monasteries, to an authentic palm beach at Preveli. You can even catch a glimpse of a lammergeier if you are lucky. Watch out though for slips and trips - stout shoes essential.

we joined a group and walked the gorge (the walk was described as "in the river" but really we were only in the river for a minute or two). our guide was lively and informed. the walking was easy so it would be good for kids. the walk ended at Preveli (Palm) beach.

Amazing place with waterfalls and small church at the end, but I reccomend to go there in the evening or early morning, when are not so many people.

Cretan wild nature at its best.On our way to the fishing village of Plakias and after a hot day driving, trekking through this wonderful gorge with a sea breeze slapping our face was just ....the best thing we did. Wear trekking shoes and a hat!!!

You can hike through the gorge and along the river and we recommend. It takes a bit of time, but head down the hill, head right and get to the river..a bit of climbing down and then you are on the river..walk through the river and see the plants, wildlife and beauty
