Family friendly resort with serviced apartments. Apartments very large and comfortable, very clean, with housekeeping every day. A few meters away is a very nice sandy beach with resort residents having access to free sun beds and umbrellas. Lots of good restaurants around also. And if you hire a car, this is a good starting point to explore the countryside.Highly recommended

What a surprise to find a first-class resort hotel in Plakias! In the last ten years a number have been built, but the Plakias Resort is the best located (directly across from the beach) and just on the outskirts of the village (so it's pretty quiet). The apartments are large, well-equipped, cool and clean. There are three pools. The landscaping is beautiful. The reception is welcoming and helpful, and right next door is the best taverna in town, run by the family Paligremnos.

Room tip: We were there in low season (May), so there was no noise. But I can imagine that one should avoid being near the pool other times.

We chose suite no 704 - next time we will take next room with a small extra wc, but we will miss ....... what ever you choose has small differences and all looks exceptional.
The complex itself was better than what could have been expected. And this architectural jewel is standing just in front of one the best beaches in south crete. The best place for a family also for a couple to stay . Unfortunately plakias village was not so scenic but it supports supermarkets for families, cooking etc. Do not miss to visit Mannousos restaurant one of the best in plakias. Buy local products like cheese, honey, oil, bread, wines etc - you will not regret it . Also visit souda beach, Ammoudi, Ammoudaki, Damnoni and Triopetra beaches. One of the best places to stay in Crete.

Room tip: What ever you choose you will not regret it

This was a great hotel to stay in. Well a cross between a hotel and self catering apartments. There was a daily maid service and the complex well maintained and pleasantly arranged. The living room / kitchen was well equipped and spacious. The bedrooms also were very good, .It was a very peaceful complex. Our apartment had a small outside area overlooking and close to the lower of the 3 pools. But better still there was another outside are that was covered in on the patio part but also had a small garden. This patio / garden area also afforded reasonable privacy being shielded from the neighbouring apartments and road by walls and hedges. So we could sit out nearly all the time, even if there was a breeze. There was a good view of a hill from there and the rock face by the (naturist end) of the beach. The hotel is set in a quiet area being a short distance from the town. About 15 minutes walk to the town where there are plenty tourist tat shops, tour places and a variety of bars and restaurants. There is a good sized supermarket nearby too. And on the short walk to town there are also some bars / restaurants. The beach just a couple of minutes from the hotel is long and sandy. Plakias and surrounding area is a bit limited, I think, if you are there for long unless you want to spend a lot of time on the beach (or the bars) .. There are a few interesting things to see in the area but I think our 10 days were enough. I hope to go back to Plakias again though. on another holiday sometime. My only criticism of the hotel itself was the internet speed and stability. I kept losing the connection, even when I was outside with my laptop just opposite the reception. Overall though, one of the best and most relaxing holidays we've had.

We've stayed in the large villa (2 adults and 4 kids - 17,14,10 and 6). It was well equiped and spacious, 50m from the beach. The staff was very friendly and we all regret we've stayed only 4 days. We will surely come again.
