The apartments feel private and separate despite being part of a complex. Plenty of room in the pools. Staff cannot do enough for you. The little garden overlooking the goats and the sea with a mix of sun and shade could not have been more perfect for us. Literally don't think I could fault it. Well equipped kitchen with all you need to self cater is you'd like. Right on the beach, 5-10 min walk to everything and yet far enough out that you feel secluded and private too. So good!

We rented a 3-bedroom villa for a week and had a fantastic time. The space was clean, modern and perfect for our family of four and an additional family member. When we weren't at the beach, we were in our pool and when the kids wanted a change of pace we could also enjoy sitting by one of the 3 other resort pools. Here you can truly relax and then walk to dinner. In the afternoons we also loved walking to get frappes at the beach bar and the kids were treated to icecream. The cleaning ladies were delightful and so thorough and we were able to do laundry with ease in the washing machine. Most mornings we walked to the bakery for fresh bread and cookies. We had a car for day trips and loved our home base in Plakais! Truly a delight. I highly recommend!

The rooms are modern clean and up-to-date its location is excellent just across a road from the beach..... The road is dead-end so virtually no traffic going past..... The atmosphere around the pools were superb with young families of different nationalities playing quietly........... unfortunately I can only think of one problem .... Which might have been a one-off but at weekend a Greek owner turned up with about 10 youngsters possibly 15-year-olds who then took over all the pools divebombed into the water scattering families ..... The noise from their room,s carried on until 2:30 AM ... However halfway through the next day they disappeared and peace returned...
Would I go back to this hotel....... yes I would just not when there's any Greek holidays

Room tip: If you can afford it have one of the three-bedroom villas with their own pool..... That will be our next choice when we go back

We just returned from a 8 day stay at Plakias resort and had a wonderful time. We are a 2 parents with 2 young kids, age 4 and 1 1/2 and a mother-in-law. The 2 bedroom rooms were great; comfortable, spacious enough, had a kitchen and clean. The couches and chairs were clean and comfortable. The walls were plain, maybe could use some art, however since there was none, there was nothing tacky. We considered the 3 bedroom with private pool and even thought about doing it for the last few days but didn't because the community pool was so I uncrowded. It was nice to not have to spend that extra money- although those units seem so wonderful since they have all the views too (so if money isn't an issue - go for it!) we 2 outdoor areas- we used the patio in the back all the time- had a nice view of the hills and pretty flowers.

The pool was cleaned every morning and felt really clean. They used very gentle chlorine because we could open our eyes under water, no problem. The lounge chairs were great- under palm trees. The apartments look really good from the outside. We were at the pool everyday and had a great time, never crowded.

the staff was super friendly, helpful with great restaurant recommendations and offering drinks by the pool. They put us close to the front since our mother-in-law has trouble walking, which was really nice. The cleaners came daily and did an awesome job on the rooms. Was so nice to come back to a really clean apartment daily!

The breakfast was good enough, wasn't amazing but served it's purpose. We arrived late the night before so needed it the first morning. We went grocery shopping and just ate in our room- much easier for kids:)

There was a great little playground for the kids to play on early in the morning and late in the evenings.

Plakias itself is a gem. Having never been to Crete we really hit the jackpot. Its a bit of a drive to get there and drive around the area (even though things are 15 Kms away, they can take an hour to get to- FYI) but that's also what makes it so wonderful- it was very uncrowded. the rocky and desert-like terrain was just so darn pretty. You can hear the waves from your room, so you cross the street and are at the beach. We really loved the part of the beach in front of the hotel- slightly to the left. There is a small beach bar that serves drinks to you on the beach chairs. It's a nice beach- soft sand, some pebbles and shells but good for kids. We had a variety of water conditions- some days flat with little or no waves so our young girls were swimming and playing in the ocean, with other days much bigger waves- about 2 feet- about the size you could boogie board- fun to play in but we needed to hold onto the kids. Not sure how much bigger the waves get but can definitely vary. Further to the left is the nudist beach, it didn't bother us, everyone kept to themselves- no big deal.

The food in the area- amazing! Fresh fish, fantastic lamb specials. We did not have 1 disappointing meal. We paid about 60 euros for each meal for 5 of us- this included a few appetizers, drinks- cocktails and beers, and entrees. It was similar cuisine everywhere but each place had their own variation. Every restaurant was family run- so cool!

We had such a great time! Would return in a heartbeat!

So clean and welcoming for our group. The pools were clean and inviting too, not to mention the fastest internet I have found in Plakias. Full size refrigerators and all appliances. Couldn't have asked for more. Can't wait to be back!
