We've enjoyed our stay in hotel Huntetal in Wildeshausen. We've had been packing and traveling all day. The staff was very friendly. We've arrived rather late in the evening, the bar was just about to close. The waiter let us sit on the terrace en extra half hour. Very nice of him. Good service!!

Room Tip: We've had a room without air-conditioning. But even though it was a hot day, the room stayes coo...

The hotel is quite okay. Its clean, its quiet and it has all that you need for quick stay. The restaurant is really good and staff is nice and professionel. The breakfast was fine also.
The surroundings are green - but nothing special. I would not stay here for a longer time, as I cant see what I should spend the days doing. But for a one nights rest its perfect. We had a 4 bed family room, which was pretty big and the beds were good.

Wildeshausen is not a big town. There are no big brand four or five star hotels. From the available options, this is clearly the best choice.
Arriving via the A1 motorway it is easily found, located a bit outside of town, but in walking distance to the town centre. Free parking available. The service is very friendly, the breakfast (included in rates) great for a three star hotel. The restaurant offers good quality typical German cuisine. The room we had on the upper non-smoker floor was quiet, spacious and clean. Free wireless internet is available throughout the hotel.
As the hotel is very busy - on all three occasions that I stayed there it was fully booked most of the time - make sure that you book in advance.
The only area for improvement would probably be to replace the old small tv's with larger modern flat panels.
Also be aware that there is no lift available, but staff are happy to assist with luggage where necessary.

Room Tip: Backside of the hotel is quieter

I stayed overnight at Hotel Huntetal whilst driving through Germany. They had feather pillows which I do not like, so I rolled the bed cover up as a pillow.
I woke at 4:00am with a feeling of being biten all over. Luckily I still had undies on. So I got up showered quickly to remove anything and left at 5:00 ish. While driving I was itching so much that I stopped at a local hospital that day. The prescribed cream to kill anything that may still be on my body and hair.
I emailed the hotel to tell them this, and to check their room, but they have not responded. Hence I am writing this review just to let other travellers know.
Shame really, they were a very friendly hotel, most sincere and helpful, and the room seemed clean and comfortable.

Decided to break up a 13 hour driving trip by overnighting in Wildeshausen which is conveniently reached in a few minutes after exiting the autoroute. Spotlessly clean hotel and room. Quiet and rural surroundings. Excellent and welcoming service. We had a nice dinner in the hotel restaurant at a very reasonable price and the buffet breakfast included in the price was fine. We were looking for a hotel where we could leave our car parked without too much fear of it being broken into (which happened to us the year before when we overnighted in Liège, Belgium) and this proved to be just the ticket, e.g. a car loaded with upper range bicycles was parked next to ours overnight as well. The only aspects that could be improved are the comfort of the mattresses (they are HARD) and that two single beds are combined to make a double which really isn't. Overall excellent value for money and recommended.

Driving from England to Norway & back via Harwich-Hook and Kiel-Oslo ferries, we wanted a relaxing place to stay overnight about halfway between Hook and Kiel. The hotel is in a pleasant semi-rural setting overlooking fields and trees, but within easy walking distance of shops. Staff were helpful and friendly, room was clean & comfortable and restaurant offered a very good breakfast buffet and a reasonable choice of menu at lunchtime as well as evening meals. No lift, so not suitable for anyone who can't manage stairs, but otherwise fine, and good value. Bedroom wasn't air conditioned, so less comfortable in very hot weather. No spa or pool.

The friendliness started at the telephone booking and continued throughout until check out.
Food was very good.
The service was quick, professional and again very friendly - not overtly so.
My room at the back of the hotel was quiet.
The only hick-up was with the internet, but that was sorted out w/in 30 mins.
