It should actualy called more a B&B. As such it's a wonderful quite and relaxing place. The rooms are cozy, rustical furnished and decorated and have - most of them - comfortable sitting corners and spacious bathrooms with the amenities you need. Some of the rooms have nice balconies, especially the ones in the first floor. Be aware, the hotel has no elevator. For people with walking difficulties the stairs are pretty challenging. The breakfast is delicious and ample and served in a very tasteful decorated breakfast room. If you want to have a drink in the evening you can go into the cellar and get a bottle of wine or some bottles of beer, soft drinks or mineral water. You tell the hotel owner in the morning what you took and pay. The owner counts on your honesty.
We choose the town for a stopover. I wouldn't recommend it. For some days of relax, yes. The town is way off the autobahn and doesn't offer much choice for shopping and eating out, at least not in the off season when we traveled. We found only one open restaurant and it was packed. But the surrounding area compensates for the lack of such amenities. It's a wonderful area for hicking and in winter for cross country skiing. The hotel is a good choice for anyone who travels in summer to the Wagner Festival in Bayreuth and wants to avoid the than very high priced hotel rooms in the city of Richard Wagner. Bayreuth is pretty close.
