We stayed at the hotel on our way back to Calais. Lovely hotel but the highlight was the restaurant. Service was fantastic and the food was the best we had tasted during our time in France. Spent a nice afternoon by the hotel pool. We stayed in Rouen at the start of our journey en route to the Loire Valley and hated the place! This is the perfect place to have a stop over en route and next time we will stay there on both our outbound and return journeys!

We don't actually stay at the Moulin, because we have thousands of pounds worth of Timeshare, and we stay at the adjoining Timeshare Apartments (my wife confirms that I am a tight b*****d, but no sense in throwing it away is there?). We do, however, eat there at least twice a week in December, something we have done for this, our 12th year. The food is glorious. The service is to die for (Karine, the owner, trains Silver Service waiters for the Hotel Trade) and the whole thing is the most fantastic experience you could want. Connelles is nowhere. It is quiet, beautiful at the Hotel, close to Rouen, and within easy travelling distance to everywhere. A note: the Palace at Versailles is closed on Mondays in December. if you stay at the Moulin in December, come and say hello. We shall be in Connelles Timeshare from 7th to 13th December. Enjoy.

Room Tip: You can stay at a Hotel, OR you can stay at Le Moulin de Connelles. Your choice. As if there was...

Stunning setting overlooking the Seine, very friendly helpful welcoming staff, who showed they care about their guests. We had a lovely room at the top of the house which had a little roof terrace in the shade of a lovely tree. Really nice place to sit and read.

We had a lovely table in the restaurant where we could watch the light change on the river. The staff were attentive and we enjoyed some fine french food with good wine suggestions. Hope to return again. Hard to believe it is only a bit more than an hour from Charles de Gaulle Airport.

We spent five nights here. Unlike many of the other guests we were not on the way to somewhere else, but simply used it as a base to visit the region. What a find this hotel is! Set in a tranquil garden, and straddling the Seine, and nestled just below the high valley walls with its interesting rock formations, this converted watermill is ideal for a quiet, restful break. The staff (and this is unusual for France) were an absolute delight: friendly, helpful, entertaining and accommodating in every way. The dinner menu was not varied enough for a five-night stay in my view, but each day there were "suggestions du chef" to widen the choice.
It is within half a day's journey from our home in the south of England, and French motorways are delightful to drive on so the journey there and back was stress-free. The only hiccup was Rouen which another time I would try to avoid. We spent our days poking around the little towns and beautiful villages which abound in this part of Normandy, and enjoying the magnificent countryside carved out by the Seine.
It is also close enough to Paris that you can get there and back in a day. We took the train one day from nearby Val de Reuil to meet a friend for lunch. But I would recommend simply enjoying the tranquil scenery.

Room Tip: our junior suite was at the front of the hotel just above the outside bar. Not that our fellow-guest...

We have just returned from a great stay at this hotel, staff and owners could not have been more helpful. Excellant food and such a wonderful setting, just great having dinner sitting above the water watching the wildlife swimming by.
The pool was not open but they brought sun chairs out and put them in the garden overlooking the river so we had a lovely lazy day sitting in the sun reading in the peace and quiet.
The surrounding area has so many interesting places to visit. and the hotel has an interesting past and a fascinating view of a wall of rose terraces, to find out about these it is very much worth a visit.
We hope to return for a longer stay.

We first stayed at this hotel in 2008 and as we had enjoyed it so much that time, planned it into this trip. I had been a little off colour the first time and as such had not been able to enjoy the excellent meal we had, so wanted to comeback to do it justice!

The setting of the hotel is great. Private drive leads down to the old mill, on the river Seine. Views are excellent and the whole atmosphere is relaxing and pretty. Staff are very kind and thoughtful and made us very welcome, suggesting walks we might like to take and being genuinely interested in us n a way that is hard to fake.

We went for a cheaper room this time than the last, but it was perfectly adequate, still having lovely river views. Bathroom was a little tired, but not really the most important point, as everything worked properly.

Food was, once more, terrific. The restaurant feels very chic and upmarket, but not snooty and we both enjoyed our meal greatly.

This hotel remains excellent and is a great stopping point for anyone on their way up or down France. Sitting just beneath Rouen it is a great place to stop for a first or last night of a trip down France and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone seeking to be pampered on their travels and to enjoy great food without being subjected to great pretension or paying the earth.

Room, breakfast, 4 course meal, wine and drinks, plus breakfast came to €289 and in my opinion was well worth it.

Room Tip: Gave rating to pool and fitness room as it is not fair to mark them down and score the hotel badly...

This hotel has been lovingly restored by innkeeper Karine. Her personal touch makes guests feel special. Hotel sits right on the Seine with breathtaking views. Rooms are charming. Dining is extraordinary, as good as a Michelin starred restaurant.
