We had a fantastic 3 week stay in August. The house is so spacious with lovely touches throughout. Love the Moroccan inspired hall lamp!
The pool was great and we appreciated being able to relax in the shade in the pool bar area.
We enjoyed trips to the local market town, a walk along the Canal du Midi and trips to the nearby lakes - stunning and lovely for swimming.
It was so lovely being able to walk from the house into the hills amongst the sunflowers, especially at sunset. The stars are spectacular too.
Can't wait to visit again and I will be recommending to friends
My friends and I wanted to rent a vacation home fairly central and accessible as we had several families coming in from all over Europe.
Flanked by sunflowers fields and big open skies, the surrounding is just exactly how I've always envisioned the countryside of the South of France to look.
The house is spacious (big enough to accommodate 4 families with kids and me) yet remains cozy. The bedrooms are all filled with natural light and inviting. The kitchen is modest and functional.
There are plenty of space for the children to play outdoors, especially the pool where they spent most of their time.
A few of us took a short drive and found Mirepoix's square and colorful market charming. We visited Carcasonne and the kids loved it immensely and suggest you spend at least an afternoon there too.
All in all, everyone had a delightful time at Font Saint Martin and everything else it had to offer.
Awesome if you're looking for intimate romantic getaway or a family (dog-friendly) retreat. Well worth a second or third visit.
We had an amazing multi-generational holiday, teenagers, Mum and grandparent. We enjoyed seeing 'The Tour' pass through the local town of Mirepoix, a great experience, fantastic for children, even if you're not a cycling fanatic! Highly recommended! What an amazing town!
The house is perfect, plenty of bedrooms and room, a great pool, you do need a car, but hire from Carcassonne or Toulouse is so reasonable, easy and swift. The local town is so friendly - try your French! The restaurant in town, La Table Cathar is great and very welcoming as is the Bar / Tabac. Bram is close by and has an amazing pizza place that delivers!
The places to visit are in abundance, we preferred the castles and 'Cathar country', but it was so easy to get to the coast, with a beautiful drive.
If you have any interest in The Camino, the pilgrim path is a distance behind the property, again, it is not intrusive, but does show the 'scallop' shell. There is so much to recommend here....
A gem of a home in the country, only a short drive from nearby villages. Night skies full of stars like no other. The kids loved the pool. Loads of seating options for meals ala fresco. Comfortable beds and views to die for. It was a wonderful location for our re-union and the home has a very comfortable airy feel with all the modern-day convince in the beautiful French country farm house.
WHAT a magical house in a beautiful location. Enjoy wonderful panoramic views from this private and remote spot and yet just a short walk to the local village. The house is spacious with huge rooms, great for families, well equipped for children who can roam safely - free to explore, inside and out, in this magical space. If you like this region you'll be hard pushed to find a more perfect place to stay by either relaxing by a beautiful private pool or visit the local lakes with swimming facilities, nearby Medieval Town of Mirepoix or drive further afield for canoing and white water rafting.
All rooms are hugely comfortable, beds were new and aided restful sleep- all bed linen beautifully clean and laundered.
This is the top of our list for places to stay in France - we've been back three times and undoubtedly will visit again very soon ...
Location s amazing and the views to die for .this awesome place has everything you need for a great family holiday ,including a swimming-pool.it is very close to the shops and the two big town centres are not very far away..We will visit again!
