“The host makes it....”
Reviewed September 19, 2013

We stayed in 2 rooms for 2 nights in August on the way back from 2 weeks in the Lot et Garonne and were delighted with the rooms and our host. Laurent was so helpful – very patient and helpful with our French. The rooms were just as they look on the photographs. We had the Exotique and the Medieval, both filled with delightful little touches. The breakfasts were, as everyone else has said, delicious and Laurent helped us with suggestions of restaurants in Chinon for the 2 evenings. We went to Chenonceaux for the day and this was beautiful. We enjoyed our stay so much we are booking 3 days on the way back home next year to visit more places in this delightful part of France.

We booked two nights in May with the intention of seeing more of France on a slow journey back to England. Instead we immediately booked a further 3 nights. Surely only Laurent would buy baggettes from one shop and croisants from another? Anyway, with the home made jam as well, it pays off. Definitely the best breakfasts we have had in France. All this and a communal kitchen for a very reasonable price.

We asked for advice on local restaurants. We asked for advice on a traiteur. Every time Larent came up trumps.

Other members of the family stayed in August - they agree.

Surely one of the best host ever! he was very friendly and his welcome was sincerely one of the best ever. The house and the room were both as shown on the website and they didn't disappoint at all our expectentions. Ligré is really a tiny village, but it's not far from Cheverny, just 10 minutes or so by car. We had planned to stay to Cheverny initially, but I'm glad we didn't find a room cause it was worthwhile to stay in the countryside.
Breakfast was really good, with fresh bread and croissant every morning, fruit, yogurt and several homemade jams. I'd like to thank once more the owner cause he spent so much time giving us tips on where to eat and what to see.

My family and I spent four nights at La Milaudiere recently and stayed in the Medieval Room. Laurent is a wonderful host and he has an exceptional B&B. He has spent 12 years restoring this 18th century farmhouse and barn into a set of clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated apartments. La Milaudiere is excellent value and we would not hesitate to stay there again. Thank you Laurent.

We spent four wonderful nights at La Milaudiere. Owner Laurent Marolleau has lovingly restored this 18th century farm into a peaceful retreat in the heart of the Chinon area. Laurent's attention to each guest is exceptional. We had a lovely living room and kitchen at our disposal. Each of the suites is interestingly themed and comfortably appointed. We returned each evening after a day of site seeing, to this quite farm and had our dinner on the terrace or in the living room.

Delicious breakfast with homemade jams. Laurent is great with local attractions and on helping plan our days. I would love to spend another trip at La Milaudiere if I return to the Loire.

Room Tip: We loved the Medieval Suite

Ligre is about ten minutes drive from Chinon. This B&B is quiet and our room (Soleil) had a four poster bed on the ground floor and two further beds and bathroom on the first floor. Everything was very clean and the breakfast was generous.

My husband and I visited the Loire Valley with our daughter and her partner and stayed in the Soleil Room at La Milauderie. The room was sizeable with a mezzanine level providing a separate sleeping and sitting area for one couple and the lower floor the same. We enjoyed spending time in the communal lounge, kitchen, dining area and terrace and garden where wifi was available. Laurent was a magnificent host...so friendly, enthusiastic and accommodating. His breakfasts were beautiful.
We all loved staying at La Milauderie and, although we ventured out each day to visit chateaus, gardens and nearby towns, we felt as if we were returning to a "home away from home." Thank you, Laurent. We would highly recommend La Milauderie.
