“Not the best place to stay”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 9, 2013

I have been to many Austrian hotels and pensions and all of them were better than Krinserhof.Apart from Young lad (assume son of owners) who was really helpfull everything in that hotel(and also Seefeld) is about money.
Breakfast was good can not complaint altough i had more choices of cheese, meat in other places i have been.Unacceptable is fact that there was no glasses in the room and when we asked for one we got answer that downstairs is a bar and we can buy drinks.Well not everyone likes spend time at the bar on holiday.
Overall average but not worth money we paid.

This was the sixth time my grandson and I have stayed here, once in the summer and every winter for the last five years. We found the binder family to be very friendly in fact we were treated has if we were a member of the family, The summer holiday was spent walking and our winter ones cross country ski-ing We cannot really say anything bad about the hotel or of any of the staff. Food is excellent and plentifull. We are fully intending unless any unexspected problem arises of going again for the 2013 ski-ing season.

I had a great time, thanks to the excellent service of the Binder family and staff at the Krinserhof. Nothing that was asked of them was too much trouble and they were all very knowledgeable of Seefeld and the Tirol. Food was very good, particularly breakfast, which set me up for several hours' skiing every day. The dining/bar area was very pleasant and relaxing, with an impressive wooden ceiling. The beer was nice and crisp and several varieties of Schnapps were on offer. My single room was clean (although dusty above eye-level on shelves etc), but a bit dated. The shared shower and toilet facilities on my floor were kept very clean and a pleasure to use. The overall interior of the hotel is somewhat busy with curios, pictures and ornaments, but they are conversation starters! The hotel has an adequate room to store skiing equipment and is a ten minute walk from the Rosshutte slopes (the Crystal Ski brochure quotes four minutes). However, it is one of the closest hotels to the Rosshutte, so it is well placed for skiers. If there is one particular bugbear to mention, it would be the lack of free table water at meal times and the quirk of keeping your own linen napkin at your place for the duration of your stay. However, there are far more positives than negatives at this quaint hotel. It felt like I was leaving home when I left. Overall, a nice, memorable stay. A lovely family.

Room Tip: Get a room on lowest floor, as there are no lifts. Best views are rooms at the front.

Spent a week with my boyfriend staying here skiing. Good access to 2 (relatively small) areas of downhill skiing (one area 500m walk and one 30min walk or 15min bus ride). Also, loads of crosscountry skiing.
Freddie and his family are wonderfully warm, open and helpful. The hotel is full of photos, ornaments and paintings. The food was in big portions, varied, Austrian traditional and good for vegetarians and meat eaters. 2 menu choices for meat eaters. The bar has a variety of beers and other drinks to be enjoyed. I enjoyed the massive hot choc.
The service is brilliant, as it is very personal. We felt really comfy. We hear wifi is coming soon, but in the meantime Wifi is free in Seefeld centre (about 10min walk). Seefeld train station is about 30mins to Innsbruck, ticket around 5 euro.
The Tyrolean music evening was lovely. Very entertaining. It seems such a nice family unit. Thank you.

Some quick highlights first:
The staff at the Krinserhof are some of the friendliest and most welcoming I have met in any hotel, particularly the famous Freddy, who has received a well deserved mention in several other reviews by previous visitors.
The food is good and plentiful. This is only a small hotel (or big guest house really) so you don't get the wide choice that a large restaraunt might offer but there is always a choice and Freddy checked at the start of the visit to see if anyone had special dietary requirements so that provision could be made if needed. I was surprised by how varied the spread was at breakfast with cold meats, cheese, scrambled eggs, a wide selection of breads and cakes, plus cereals. This provided ample fuel for a day on the piste.
The Krinserhof is located outside the village itself but is within easy walking distance of the main slopes, even if you're wearing ski boots. (I wasn't but several other guests were.) The village itself is about 10 minutes away, though allow longer to get back as you'll be coming up hill.

Bonus points:
This was the first time I've been away on a winter sports holiday on my own and I was initially concerned by two factors - would I get stung for single occupancy and would I meet anyone to talk to at the hotel.
Well, for singleton travellers the good news is that the Krinserhof has several single rooms and I managed to book for about the same price as I would have done as part of a group booking. It was £200 pounds cheaper than the next best offer I could find. Further good news is that the staff will put single travellers and smaller groups together in the dining room so there was always conversation in the evenings and someone to look forward to meeting on the slopes.
I must mention the staff again as they were really excellent. Always friendly, always helpful, and Freddy in particular who speaks excellent English. This is a guy that really seems to enjoy his work and he made everyone feel welcome.
Just one caution: beware of the Chilli Schnapps! It is lethal.

A really first rate traditional Austrian Pension which offers comfortable and homely accommodation. The food and service provided are both excellent and great care is taken by the hotel staff and management to ensure that their guests have a truly memorable stay!!!.

The rooms at the front of the hotel offer scenic views over Seefeld.

Top tip, if you are downhill skiing in this resort, then consider hiring a “heated” ski locker at the bottom of the Rosshütte lifts for your boots and skis’. The 40 euro charge for a 2 person locker per week is a good investment.

We were after a relaxing easy skiing feelgood experience, and Seefeld and the Krinserhof fitted the bill exactly. The hotel is a relaxed family run place, 5 minutes walk from the main slopes. If you don't want to so this in ski boots and carrying skis, you can rent a locker at the ski station from the sports shop there. A bus shuttles free of charge between the two main slope areas. The food is good straightforward Austrian cuisine and the hotel is clean, quiet and unfussy and it has a room for your ski equipment. The only drawback we could see was that the hotel lacked a place to properly lounge. You had to use restaurant seating or bar stools at the small but well stocked bar. For those who wanted to try the downtown apres ski scene, that wasn't a drawback at all. My bed was a little short for me so sleep quality was not perfect. But we had a budget priced room, and apart from bed size, the room was perfectly adequate and was serviced every day.

Room Tip: West side rooms have best views. There isn't a lift so first floor best if you don't like st...
