Have to agree with some other reviewers about this as although a 10 min walk to centre is mentioned it actually took us on average 20 mins to get back from the centre after a days ski-ing and its all up-hill. Don't let that that put you off though as they are a very welcoming and will accommodate most requests gracefully and swiftly. The rooms are a little 'tired' though as shown by the thin towels and very lumpy pillows that, along with a bed that won't allow you to stretch out fully, made for some fairly uncomfortable nights. TV is wall mounted with Austrian only channels (some pixellation) although I believe English programmes are available in the lounge downstairs. Some great views from the font facing rooms over Seefeld and it is a very quiet location. We found the food to be a little repetitive at dinner with variations of pork on three nights, trout on one night , followed by a do it yourself fondue style chicken meal and rounded off with a mysterious 'seafish' choice. I should say that there are, apart from the arrival and fondue days, there is a choice of two menus and those mentioned were only our own personal selections. Desserts were usually cake based but fruit or fruit cocktail (tinned) could also be had.
Breakfast was OK, the usual buffet style breads, jams and spreads etc with cereals and fruit (apples) Only items lacking were fresh juices and a slightly more comprehensive choice for the cooked option which was warmish scrambled eggs everyday. A hearty bread roll based breakfast is handed to guests leaving early for eating on the coach to the airport but helping yourself to items at breakfast for consumption later is frowned upon and actively discouraged with a warning notice at the table. One issue that could be quite a problem is the settling of the holiday bar bill. This has to be in 'cash' only as no cards are accepted but to my knowledge this is not mentioned anywhere, either by the holiday reps or indeed the hotel itself until the actual payment ! We noticed one couple having to walk down to the centre on their last night after dinner to facilitate this faintly archaic ruling, so be warned. We also found that although the bar area advertised a 5.30pm opening time for drinks before the 7-8pm dinner hour invariably there was no-one there to serve and indeed during the day and eary evening there was a distinct lack of staff about the place. We usually drank in the Hotel Marta just opposite for some atmosphere and company after our day on the slopes but it would have been nice to use our own facilities and not just at meal times. To sum up a friendly hotel with helpful staff but needing to upgrade its rooms and menus/food to reflect their customers wishes for greater choice and comfort.
Although of course it is only a 3* establishment and you are getting what you pay for - enough said !
