We had terrific time in Seefeld, thanks to hospitality of the land lady and the stuff of Chalet Montana. Small clean hotel, quiet location, no shortcomings whatsoever. Will return any time.

Bettina was a lovely, warm hostess. All the staff were very attentive and polite. The food was delicious every night. A nice clean family room. Nice sauna area too. Very convenient if skiing on Roschutte - we walked (only 15 mins) every day and left skis and boots at the mountain so great if you have young children skiing on that mountain (may be more tricky if kids are beginners skiing on the Geigenbuhel or Gschwandcopf). We had a wonderful time at Chalet Montana and wouldn't hesitate in recommending it to others.

From the moment my wife and I arrived we were made to feel very welcome by Petina the owner. She was very friendly and welcoming as was Jessie her little jack russell. Our room was on the first floor and was basic but adequate and spotlessly clean. When we arrived the teperateture was -15 outside and our room seemed a little cold, after speaking to the other guests we found they all said the same however when we mentioned this to Petina she was most apollogetic and said she would sort it out immidiately which true to her word she did and we had no further problems. The breakfast was of a very good continental standard usual cheeses cold meats choice of bread and rolls as well as fruit, cereals and conserves. The evening meals were a choice of two mains, which you chose at breakfast, soup to start, an excellent salad buffet and dessert. All of which were of a very high standard and thoroughly enjoyable. I honestly don't think we left a scrap of food on our plates all week. The best night, Christmas Eve we were treated at no extra cost to a truly amazing six course meal with a free glass of bucks fizz at the start all served by our convivial waitress Virginia. All staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Drinks in the hotel we found were very reasonably priced 2.80 for a glass of wine and 3 euros for a large beer The only drawback with this hotel is that it's about a 15 to 20 minute walk into the village centre and a 7 to 8 minute walk to the ski bus stop which runs every 20 mins. if you are going to the Rosshutte area your better off leaving your skis and boots at the base of the slopes and walking there in the morning it takes about 10 minutes. The bus takes 40 as it goes in a loop but only goes one way, which seems a bit strange. Seefeld itself is a beautiful village, very scenic with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants to suit all tastes. There's also plenty for the non skier as there's a great swimming pool with chutes and flumes, an outdoor ice rink and the city of Innsbruck is only 40 minutes away by train As for the skiing, the Gshwandkopf area is a great place for begginers and probably a good place to start for intermediates to get their ski legs back! however the more advanced would probably get bored before lunch. The Rosshutte is a good place for intermediates and there's some lovely runs and good views from the top but again after three or four days I found myself wanting a little more, thats the beauty of buying the "happy card" ski pass. On the last day I got the train to Garmisch in germany. It takes about 45 minutes and costs around 15 euros but the ski pass covers that area. Fantastic days skiing on Germanys highest mountain some great challenging long runs, must go back for more. Overall we had a great week met some lovely people, had a fantastic Christmas and would return to The Montana and Seefeld tomorrow if we could.
