“wonderful time”
Reviewed October 26, 2012

It's been nearly 3 months i've been to everest hotel but i still think a lot about this family. The son, Bunty, the dad and the staff are so welcomig, open and friendly. I miss them a lot. The first night in Pushkar was a bit chaotic for my friend and i, we arrived late and all hostels were full but not Everest hotel. We arrived late and the dad were sleeping we woke him up, and he treated us as his own family, i felt a hot welcoming!! Go there and just take time with this family. Enjoyed the food, the view of the rooftop, the room cleaned and really nice. I hope one day to come there again!!

Wow! What a great place to stay. The owners were very nice and offered me a very cheap room. The place is very popular and it's easy to see why. The rooftop restaurant is great too. The staff are friendly enough considering the vast number of people they must see. Location is perfect.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Everest very much. The owner and his son Bunty are very friendly and accommodating, and the little puppy Lion is an adorable addition.

The rooms were good for a budget option but I recommend looking at a couple because they do differ. The first night we were shown a nice room with a big bathroom but we opted to stay in the rooftop room for two nights with the third night in the other room. We got the room at a deal but I am not sure it would be worth the asking price (over 1000 rupees). The room is large and spacious but the bathroom connects to the kitchen so it can be very noisy, especially early in the morning. Another weird complaint: the bathroom had an overwhelming odor (I have smelt it before, it is perhaps some chemical they use to clean?) and we couldn't tolerate it long enough to shower and we had to keep the door shut at all times.

The third night we were shown a different room than the first and although it was on the same floor, it was not as nice. The bathroom was so small that the shower sprayed into the sink. You could see the sink water running into the broken drain on the floor making everything wet even when you weren't showering! The first room we saw was very nice though on the first night and I wish we would have stayed in there the entire time! For 500 rupees, that room is a super good deal and everything was spotlessly clean.

The food at the restaurant was so-so and we opted to eat out instead. Service was okay but could probably be better. Rooftop was very nice though.

Location is perfect but noisy because it is the main part of town (no problem for us however). I really liked how they used signs so that you could make your way back easily without getting lost! They also arranged a camel tour for us at a good price and a driver to and from Ajmer which was convenient.

Overall, I think this hotel was very good. It may be a little too budget for us but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. The biggest pluses were the friendliness of the owner and his son and the cleanliness (oh and the perfect wifi!). I would recommend it to anyone on a budget or just stopping over for the night.

Excellent choice in Pushkar. The rooms are very clean and all of the windows are covered with mosquito nets. Hot water daily (not that u need it).

Rooftop restaurant was perfect for chilling out and the view over Pushkar is stunning. Sunsets from this rooftop are some of the best we've seen in our 7 week stay in India. They also have a pet tortoise on the roof and monkeys visit on a daily basis.

We initially booked 2 nights at the everest and ended up staying 6. We booked thro HostelBookers and the rate was quite a bit more than the rate we'd have got had we contacted them directly. Luckily the manager charged us their basic rate which was 450 rupees a night for a double room for every night we stayed.

The Everest is situated in the back lanes and although they're traffic free there are still plenty of cows and motorbikes around so those small lanes can get a bit crowded but then this is the case for mose accommodation in Pushkar. There are also frequent power outages (every day) so make sure you have a torch for walking back.

Free Internet access in rooms and rooftop was a huge bonus.

I can only pick one fault with the Everest and that is that their roof terrace closes at 10pm and so does everything else in Pushkar. After about half nine /10pm Pushkar becomes a ghost town and there is nothing to do so it'd be great to be able to go back to the roof terrace and read a book or go on the Internet so you don't feel confined to your room after 10pm! Even an extra hour or so would be great!!!

Overall this is a great place to stay and I'd stay again if I returned to Pushkar.

Really comfortable stay and friendly and helpful staff! The rooftop restaurant is really nice too. You get a nice view over the lake, and all the mountains. They also got a very cute puppy. Strongly recommends!

Room Tip: If you can choose, don't book a room on the ground floor.

I had to choose this one cos of their cute little puppy, Lion. We were shown couple of rooms, and we chose the ground floor Rs350 fan room for the night. Everything in the room was basic but clean and a nice hot shower.

View from their rooftop restaurant is just impeccable. Food was totally decent.

They have Wi-fi available as well!

Immediately after arriving I was shown a choice of rooms and allowed to relax before checking in. The roof top restaurant is a great place to eat or just relax with a book. The perfect place for watching sunsets. An the hotel staff make an effort to remember your name, nice touch to make your stay comfortable. It is close to the lake and the bazaar, and there is always hot water!
