one of the good place to get relaxed, situated in hilly region very close to nature, has got excellent panoramic view with lakes and nice maintained rooms.Good place to enjoy weekend with family and friends, food is average but staff behavior is good they try to manage all your needs, stay in tents is a good option, morning is full of fog and noises of birds.

Room Tip: Tents and AC rooms are best options

Mandu is a small place with basic amenities, but very well kept historical monuments. The hotel is very well located and the AC rooms have the best location in the hotel, overlooking the lovely Mandu Lake. The accommodation is spacious, you get a bedroom, a bathroom , a small living room and a powder room when you book a double room. 2 such rooms make a cottage, which worked perfectly for us as we were two couples. Our room no 113/114 appeared to me the best location, though I guess, atleast 4 more rooms in ascending order will get similar advantage. Room service is quite so so, there is no tea coffee maker, but a fridge is provided. The food is quite good in the restaurant and so is the bar and service here is with a smile. The reception was a disgrace. The staff could have been a little proactive. It poured like hell and the umbrellas we were carrying were quite inadequate. The Resort offered no help they kept on saying that it is a small place you will get no raincoats or umbrella. We got drenched the first day, but searched the market at the end of the day and managed to find 2 shops selling raincoats. Since it is a one street and one market place, it is quite unbelievable that the resort staff could be so ignorant. But the manager put us on to a good guide, Mr Tiwari. He in turn organised our travel to and from Indore and a nice taxi and himself at our disposal . Great guy. Back to the hotel..it was a huge shame the way the rooms were kept..plaster coming off, very bad linen. The insides of the rooms had a poorly maintained govt. guest house kind of feel and was quite disproportionate to the money charged for the same (Rs 3000+ per night, season rate) and monkeys were a menace. The swimming pool was horrifying and so were the AC tents. Don't make the mistake of booking them (and they are even more expensive). I suppose the hotel is the best bet still in Mandu, but we were happy we carried our bedsheets and towels, as also tea coffee maker . Do carry your raincoat if you visit in season (rains), though I seriously think that one could pay less and book post sept 1. A little less rains can't harm or hamper the experience. And the food here is still the best and most hygienic we could see in Mandu. So stay with it and resist offers of local dal bati kind of food. Not worth it.

Room Tip: AC rooms starting from 113 upwards.

Rooms were good, but the bed broke when i slept on it,it's not that i am over weight, but the bed quality was bad. room no. 116. Location of room was just bang on facing the lake. The food here was average. Please don't try the continental dishes here.

The hotel has the best location in Mandu. The rooms are decent but could have been better. the staff is friendly and help full. The resort is on lake side and the best time to visit is in the rainy season. Mandu is a must see destination for any one interested in history. try going around on cycles which are available in the hotel.

Room Tip: The best rooms are near the lake ( 16 - 17 , 20 - 19 )

Recently refurbished rooms with a new restaurant and bar. This was the third time we were staying there and the visit was even more satisfying than before. Staff is helpful and friendly and food is good. Location is excellent and view from the lawn is breath-taking

Room Tip: The tents are by far the best accommodation at this property

This is apparently the best Mandu has, and that doesn't say much. Resort felt desolate, and the rooms were very poor. A/c worked from time to time, but at least there was a TV. The food was actually pretty good (we ate vegetarian).

Mandu is a fantastic sight - one of the best in India - and so it is amazing that the hotel situation is so bad. One can only hope that the situation will improve. For now I'd suggest it as a day trip only, perhaps from Maheshwar, or even from Indore, as the roads seem much improved.

Very pleasantly surprised by Malwa Resort, run by the Tourist Dept MP. Nice open surroundings and clean, pleasant staff, good food, where they will cook anything you want and overall a refreshing experience.

Room Tip: The locations of all cottages are good and offer privacy
