The musuem is vast and spread out over a few kilometres if you really want to see it. The main musuem has most exhibits, and offers enough distraction from the regular world. :)
Would need a day to give justice to it.

The most extensive and beautiful outdoor (huge acreage) and indoor museum I have ever seen. All exhibits are superbly built by India's aboriginal tribal people.
In the museum hall is also a display of the evolution of humankind.
Special note:
If you have a social/cultural building project in India, the highly crafted and artistic tribal people who designed and built the exhibits here, are available (for food and shelter) to help you design and build original style habitats... (please inquire!)
The grounds also feature an organic farming display with a neatly designed raised bed irrigation system and ... "earthworms"... fascinating for kids!
The museum guides are all very well informed tribal people.
It is worth a dedicated trip to Bhopal for...
(In spite of the negative impact, Bhopal overcame the chemical disaster quite well... Such Industrious and forward looking people in Bhopal)

This place is great to learn about Indian rural living. Almost all the places in India are covered with their different types of housing, interiors of houses and travel methods.
The places is situated in the center of Bhopal town and easily accessible. One can sped minimum half a day or even a day if goes through things thoroughly.
This is a great place for people interested in photography but keep in mind that mornings are better for photography since the entrance of most of the displays are facing east so in evenings it becomes harder to get good photos.
One should be careful though, the places covers lots of area and one needs to walk quite a bit.
I have not seen a similar museum in any place of India. I would recommend it to anybody who visits Bhopal.
