“A worthwhile visit”
Reviewed April 18, 2012

We went here on Good Friday, only because the nearby Archaeological Museum was unexpectedly closed for the day. In the event, it proved to be an enjoyable visit. We appreciated the attempt to instruct visitors on subjects like Mendelian Genetics, and we enjoyed wandering among the various tribal huts on the hill opposite the main museum building.

“Manav Sanghralaya , Bhopal”
Reviewed April 10, 2012

You don't get to see this kind of place in the middle of the city ... vastly spreaded , its a nice place to move around , walk around ... see the fantastic museum , also spreaded across green acres of land ... Its a hilly area , and you can see the upper lake from here ... breath taking view

“Every Indian kid between 10-13 should visit this”
Reviewed January 28, 2012

The museum is not one building but a lot of outdoor exhibition areas on rocky hills. Carry Umbrella, water and snacks. If you can manage a cycle/transport it would be helpful as the distances are not small and with smaller kids it may be a problem. The cafeteria is pretty basic only tea, chips packets and bottled water.

The exhibits like rural engineering practices, tribal housing in India would be an eye opener for the city kids. The natural history and anthropology museum is also good. The exhibits are well labelled unlike the nearby state museum where some them are labelled only in Hindi.

They normally have some kind of exhibitions and sale of handicrafts organised as melas. They also have a sales counter where you get indigenous art forms for sale.

“a great one day journey to an India you only suspected”
Reviewed January 27, 2012

It is a great and very large museum of local housing and people throughout india. well designed and superbly realised, it is pleasant to spend the day there and discover its diversity, details, message. It is a major attraction point to Bhopal, though not the only one
