avoid guides and kids selling stuff here. Visit the main temple and do go to the backside of it where you can see the inverted image of temple . Also visit the underground Shiva temple . Note the big pots which were used to grind sandal wood and tilak for rituals. There is also a beautiful step tank in the courtyard on the right side . One can feed fishes here and it gives a beautiful sight of water and temple during sunset. Do meet Lakshmi the blessing elephant. Post this visit so to nearby Ganesh and Jain temple . Driver may tell you there is another ganesh temple but that one is smaller than this giant one.

Being one of the Oldest Hindu Temples, this temple stands as a symbol of the past architecture and the details contained within the architecture ️. The intricate details and the statues will definitely awe you. Place to visit just as a temple or to study the art or to see the history visually. Overall, a must visit and time travel ⌚✈️ kinda place.

It is a huge temple, and unlike other ancient temples in Hampi, this one is functional with lord Virupaksha and other deities in it. The temple is a must visit even if you aren't there for religious purposes as a lot of places here are functional and you can imagine how other places must have been when they were functional too, hundreds of years ago.

I went there to meet the temple elephant Lakshmi and I love her to bits. I was happy that she was taken care there and wasn't chained. We went a little earlier as I wanted to see how the elephant caretakers give her a ceremonial bath in river Tungabhadra flowing opposite the temple complex, and it was a beautiful start to the day.
