Worth seeing this - the arches are carvings are exceptional and certainly will give you some excellent photos. Well kept grounds, knowledgeable and helpful staff at this site.

Contained within the Zenana Enclosure the Lotus Mahal is an impressive looking, albeit fairly small, building. Worth paying the entrance fee to see (since in any event the same ticket also gives access to the Vitthala Temple).

This was one of the places in the ancient times where queens used to rest and relax, in fact, it had a built in air conditioning system. The structure had in-built terracota pipes and there was a well beside this temple. Water was filled into those pipes and fans were used to circulate the cool air within the palace with drapes around on its gates.

After watching several Bollywood movies with this tank as a backdrop, it was the reason I went to Hampi.

It was much smaller than though but quite interesting architecturally, the Roman aquaduct feeding the pool and the soldiers plates a discovery.

By the side of Lotus Mahal there is one more stage like enclosure which if I remember is Queen’s palace. For I remember all these to be related to the queens and princesses of the palace. Check out the carvings on top of the Lotus Mahal. Next to the lotus mahal walking further is the elephants stable.
