We had a very good stay at lakshmi.
Service is good, rooms are clean and with hot water.

Only problem was the water was missing for some hours one day. But was fixed quickly.
I really enjoyed my stay.

We found Lakshmi after our rickshaw driver took us there. It was over our budget so we were just going to leave and find another place. When the owner insisted that we could work out the price, we decided to try bargaining. The first thing we asked is whether internet was included with the room, and she said that it was. When we finally agreed on a price, she turned around to leave and then told us that internet would be an extra Rs.100 a day. It was sneaky and it really annoyed me, but my husband convinced me to stay. After a few minutes we realized that there were tiny ants all over the floor and that the plug-in mosquito repellent canister was empty. I asked her to replace the canister and sweep up the ants several times, but they didn't help us. Eventually I found a broom and started sweeping up the ants (which were attracted to a very large dead bug under a TV stand) and then they finally came in and sprayed.

Other than these things (and a couple of cockroaches - hey, it's India), the room was actually quite nice. There is hot water if you ask, and the bed is probably the most comfortable we had in all of India. They do turn off your electricity if you aren't in the room, so electronics won't charge unless you're there. Proceed with caution on this one.

We spend 2 nights in the guest house. A very charming family is running it. It is very clean, new bed sheets, clean bathroom, witch is not the case every where in hampi ( low tariffs of other guesthouse includes dirty bed sheets and fleas)

We stayed for 3 days there. Rooms are big, clean, free wifi ( works not always) , hot water not always, but hampi is hot so this is not a problem. The owners do not live there so if you have a problem you have to wait. Checkout is pretty early and late checkout very expensive, almost the full price. But if you want to stay on the bazaar side it is a ok place. Location is in a family street with nice neighbors were you can have breakfast. You should bring a mosquito net if you like to open the window at night.

We were expecting to be ripped off and unimpressed with a place in Hampi Bazaar but Lakshmi HH was a really decent place to stay. The rooms were really nice (bit of a alpine chalet feel to them). Bathroom was good but hot water a little unreliable. Not much of an atmosphere but didn't spend too much time in the room anyway. Really not bad for the money - especially in a place where they've got you by the short and curlies!
Would recommend.

We stayed here for two nights. The owner/manager is a lady who is usually very helpful.. We paid 1300/night for AC rooms .. but i guess the rates are more of a demand supply issue..

Overall the room is basic with decent toilets, good condition AC and TV... We got hot water during our stay ....

There is a lot of demolition going on in Hampi which we saw during our stay.. So would advise travellers to hampi to be vary of this issue.. Do not assume that your guest house would be spared... I guess the ones which are in houses would still be okay..

Overall keep your expectations reasonable and you would be happy.. if you are the type who wants better rooms during your holiday then stay in hospet..
