My boyfriend and I stayed here in February 2013. This was my second trip to Hampi and it somehow proved even more magical than the first. Goan Corner is unique in that it is set back from the rest of the guesthouses this side of the river. You don't get the sunsets as you do in accommodation along the 'high street' but you get the sunrises over the towering boulders on your doorstep. Complete peace and quiet (especially if you choose the rooms at the back, backing onto the rice paddys). In spite of the extensive menu, all of the food is fantastic. Add lots of dogs (including two great danes), attentive staff and the most characterful hostess I have ever met (Sharmilla you made our stay!) and you have the perfect budget choice in Hampi

Situated in a quiet corner across the river, Goan Corner is a place you could stay for months at a time. We were unfortunately only there for a week but the family run atmosphere was very welcoming and the staff, Deepak and Israel made us feel very much at home. The rooms are simple but comfortable with a hammock out front and the restaurant consistently served up great food. Having the dogs around was a very nice touch and I can't wait to return for another stay in the future. Thanks to Sharmella and Thakur for a great stay.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the rocks at the back are very peaceful.

A little bit of a walk away from where other guest houses are located this is still a great value for money option, less than 5 gbp per night and I was made to feel very welcome. The main house in the centre allowed me to enjoy a home cooked meal and cricket on the big screen. The room was fine with mosquito net although being low season the power did trip out on occasion. All in all a lovely place and great value for money, especially for the solo traveller. One gripe was the monkeys waking me up at 6am but it was still a lovely view to watch them so early

The Goan Corner is perfect to unwind at Hampi. Its a 5 minutes walk through paddy fields, ahead of the rest of accomodation.
Food is quite good and so is the common restaurant area.
The owner is really helpful & friendly; and they charge the same prices for everyone, independent of your nationality.
The rooms are clean. Could get the bathroom cleaned up before you check-in.
Overall, great people, great place to stay.
Extremely chilled out and laid back.

Room Tip: Choose a room facing the paddy fields
