Wow! What an amazing insight to yhe history of this place.

I seriously recommend taking a guide though.

The architecture of the temple is spendid. The stone chariot is beautifully carved. Do carry water bottles with you as it is very hot in summer and there are no water sources or shops nearby.
We reached the temple from the back walking along the riverside ruins after vising Rangatha temple and Sugreeva Caves, so the walk was a bit longer.

This is one of the best attractions in Hampi...The total area covered is very large and you require more time for sightseeing. The stone chariot is simply awesome and the stone carvings on many of the pillars are simply exquisite. A must visit place in Hampi.

Vithala temple complex is one of the main attractions in Hampi. It is one of the place which takes more time for sight seeing.Temple complex is almost one kilometer away from its entrance gate. You have 2 options o reach main temple complex.Either you can walk or you can take the service of battery charged golf cart(charged Rs 10 for one way to Indians i guess).it is better to walk to the complex and in return journey you can take the service of golf cart.Because on the way to temple complex, there is small small structures are there an you can see the remains of old township called vittalpura which existed around temple complex .If you are going by cart,it will stop only at main complex,it wont stop in between.
stone chariot and music temple attracts me the most.Pillars in musical temple produces melodious tones.
There is an underground pathway around main sanctum in the temple complex.Walking through that path way is a different experience. there are lot of things to see in this complex and it gives a small glimpse of the glory of its golden times..I will say it is a must see place in Hampi..
