Padma cost us 1000 baht, about 14 pounds, and it really should have been cleaner for that money. The walls were really dirty. The shower had a cold tap and a boiling hot burn your skin tap, so you have to choose between freezing or baking. The lady in charge was nice, and the location is lovely, but I expect more for that kind of money in Hampi.

We booked Padma guest house after reading reviews in Lonely Planet and on Trip Advisor. The location is perfect but the guest house could be so much better.
When we booked our stay we were travelling by overnight sleeper from Hyderabad and Padma guest house said they would send a rickshaw driver to meet us. On arrival at Hospet we waited for 30 mins and turned away many rickshaw drivers. Eventually one driver Ramesh came to us and asked who we were waiting for. He then telephoned Padma who didn't know where their driver was. Ramesh then drove us to Padma guest house and he was so pleasant and professional we agreed to tour the ruins with him the following day (highly recommended - he was a knowledgeable guide and spoke great English).
Our room wasn't ready so we were directed to a rather shabby roof terrace overlooking some of the ruins. There were piles of cigarette stubs in corners and the plastic furniture had seen better days. The roof terrace has the most amazing views and could be a stunning place to sit for breakfast or relaxing.
We were shown to our room 'one of the best rooms at Padma with the best views' 1,200 rs per night without A/C. The exterior was fine. The room itself was pretty basic, but had all you would need. I have seen mention of Mosquito nets on other reviews - there were none in our room. Of the two windows neither of them closed properly and the curtain pole above one was missing just the brackets left fixed to the wall. We were told we could have A/C for an extra 300 rs per night - but A/C is not effective unless it is in a room with properly closing windows. The bathroom was the worst we had encountered on this and previous trips to India. The hand basin and tap (yeuck) were grubby to say the least and the basin was cracked around the rusty screws holding it to the wall. There were plastic bathroom fitments (shelf, toothbrush holder) which were filthy. for some reason they had fitted the shower by smashing the tiles on the wall and then simply cementing the pipes into the wall. The walls of the bathroom were in desperate need of a good scrub particularly at floor level where one clump of darke hair (we are both fair) was there on our arrival and our departure. The final thing in the bathroom was the open window with a beach towel hung over it for privacy. We stayed two nights at Padma guest house, our room rate was meant to include breakfast but on one day we were told to go to the restaurant next door because Padma had to go out. Obviously nobody else there is capable of making tea and toast. My advise as a hopitality business owner in the UK is invest some of the money you take back into your business or be left behind, as other places in Hampi are so much better - and they were Full!

we booked this guest house for our family of 2 couples and 2 small kids. They were kind to hold the room for us well after check in time, though the rooms held were not upto our liking.
The washbasin was in the room itself and leaking.one of the rooms did not even have a window which was not informed, else we could have taken a AC room which again was not available. The heat was not bearable.
So after a tiring long drive from Bangalore we all had to stay cooped in One room and ofcourse pay for the other unused room.
The lady managed to tell us in clear terms,"Take it or leave it",This is all i have.
Apart from tea no other service is available for Indians, though she compromises for the foreigners. The small kids with us also cut no ice with her for special help.
The location though is excellent and some of the rooms are very much good and"can stay long "types.
The view of the Virupaksha temple from the balcony was worth the stay.

The woman who runs the place is incredible, she's extemely helpful and will go out of her way to ensure you have a good time in Hampi. Transport from Hospet was provided by Padma Guest house. They also called around to ensure we got the best price for a taxi to Badami. The breakfast is included and is delicious. The guest house also talked me into staying a couple additional nights for a festival happening in Hampi, I would've missed out on a wonderful cultural experience if they hadn't told me about it.

Hampi has a lot of basic accommodation and this place is one of the best amongst those available in the Hampi Bazaar area. We had unwittingly organised to be in Hampi over a festival weekend so accommodation was at a premium price. We had pre- booked and Sagar, Padma's son, had efficiently organised for us to be picked up by tuc tuc from Hospet Station which was great after the overnight journey. A twenty minute journey took us to Hampi town and Padma's, which is in a good position, up a quiet street adjacent to hillside ruins with a back route to the temple, main Bazaar area, the river and town life. Temple view from the sunny roof top terrace and easy access to the nearby hillside ruins to watch the sun go down. We were warmly welcomed by Sagar, offered a place to store our luggage while we waited for our room to be ready and breakfast on the roof. Be prepared with money to pay on arrival as Padma requested we pay for the room shortly after we had got there. Our corner room, on the first floor, was airy, spacious, had windows on both sides and was acceptably clean. It had twin beds, side shelf, mirror, hooks for storage and enough plugs for reacharging purposes. We were provided with one sheet and blanket and a medium sized towel each. Blankets and towels were adequate but the sheets were not crisp or well washed, and one was unacceptably dirty. We had sleeping bag liners so it wasn't crucial and we didn't ask for replacements which I am sure Sagar would have provided. The attached bathroom was clean, of reasonable size had hot water shower, miniscule corner basin, bucket and jug and working toilet. Shampoo, soap and toilet paper were provided. No mosquito screens on the windows but a mosquito plug in was provided which was refilled on request. Sagar was ready to help with any requests and organised a tuc tuc for a half day to take us around the ruins which lay further afield which worked out really well. Make sure you negotiate with the driver what the total charge will be before you set out and only pay up when you are safely back. Padma and Sagar can give you an idea of what is reasonable.

I stayed one night at Padma on a quick trip to Hampi. The room was simple but clean, with a small outside area to sit and take in the view. AC was available but I didn't need it in February. Padma and her son were courteous, helpful and kind. They made me feel comfortable and welcome. I wasn't feeling well so Padma brought me something to eat and let me rest the next day in an empty room while I waited for the train. And there was free wify! This is rare even in much larger hotels and was a definite plus for me.
