The hotel is very well located - almost central to Mcleodganj and less than 5 mins walking distance from the main square. Rooms are ok, neat and clean. the staff is friendly, polite and makes you comfortable. The place is popular with both Indian and Foreign tourists. They have a nice terrace restaurant where you can just sit and relax and enjoy the view. If you have a Indian palate then this is not the best of places to eat, but all other cuisines were simply mouth watering.....we visited in April, the weather and our stay were just right!

I stayed here for 3/4 days. I was in the 1st floor single room for couple of days then in the street level double room with a magnificent valley view. Its very close to the Dalai Lama Temple n residence. The cafe food is pretty decent, great sitting and one of the few only veg (n eggs, they all serve eggs) cafe there.
The staff is really friendly and easy to talk to.
The terrace is a great place to sit - it gives you the valley view and also the mountain view which is behind..

Room Tip: Take the double rooms with view. The single rooms with view are a bit to the side so not such a grea...

Pema Thang has been a staple for a few visits over the last 10 years ... but never again!
I was allocated a room where construction work was taking place right outside. I also had no electricity and hot water. On informing reception I was met with such an uncharacteristically abrasive attitude. Sorry Pema Thang your standards have slipped!

When I booked this room, as always, I was attracted by the offer of the balcony view that it offered, but had no idea we would be overlooking the Temple and residence of the Dalai Lama from our balcony. That little detail, in addition to the incredible view of lower Dharamsala and the valley far below, as well as the spacious and very clean room that we discovered, was all a beautiful surprise. Then we discovered the lovely terrace restaurant with an equally stellar view of the valley, the great food, and the very friendly and helpful hotel and restaurant management team. A very special bonus that this guest house provides, we discovered upon arrival, is the free yoga class offered every morning in its own Yoga studio, taught by a Buddhist monk and very accomplished pranayama yoga teacher. Thank you, Mita and Sagar, for making our stay at Pema Thang Guest House a delight. We look forward to staying with you again in future.

Room Tip: Pay the extra and go for a balcony room on the top floor. The view is worth it, especially since on...

I stayed here for a mere three nights in March, but the memories will live with me forever.
First, what a magnificent location in a quiet area. From my balcony and window I could see the Dalai Lama temple complex and hear the monks chanting.
Secondly, The owner and staff (Mita and Raj) are the most delightful people. Kindness, calm, and peace just radiate from them. The owner lent me a walking sick for which I was very grateful.

My room was spotless, and the restaurant serves excellent food at reasonable prices. This was the only place I ate salads. Try the Russian Salad......delightful.

The terrace outside the restaurant has a lovely view of the Kangra valley.

Would return in a heartbeat!

Place is slightly uphill from the main market. Totally worth it for the views and the friendly staff. Unlike most hotels in india the travel desk managed by Mr. Dawa at the hotel is great help and will provide you most reasonable rates. The slight let down is the restaurant food and the latches in the room are too old school and hard to close. The manager Mita is quite friendly and helpful. Best to directly book the hotels through their website. Do book in advance as its very popular with tourists. Worst come scenario you can try your luck with the single room 101 that's what we had to do as makemytrip gave us a false confirmation and then we had to directly deal with the hotel

We reached in the evening.Evening tea as well as Morning breakfast were well served and very good to eat.
The view from the restaurant of the hotel was very refreshing and relaxing.
Though a simple, basic,Neat and clean hotel,i shall stay here again whensoever i visit Mcleod ganj. There is a yoga room as well. This trip was just overnite trip and got up a little late for the yoga session.
the main reason of recomending this hotel is the friendliness of the Staff, which i hope is maitained.

Room Tip: Rooms on2nd and 3rd floor have good view
