Place is slightly uphill from the main market. Totally worth it for the views and the friendly staff. Unlike most hotels in india the travel desk managed by Mr. Dawa at the hotel is great help and will provide you most reasonable rates. The slight let down is the restaurant food and the latches in the room are too old school and hard to close. The manager Mita is quite friendly and helpful. Best to directly book the hotels through their website. Do book in advance as its very popular with tourists. Worst come scenario you can try your luck with the single room 101 that's what we had to do as makemytrip gave us a false confirmation and then we had to directly deal with the hotel

We reached in the evening.Evening tea as well as Morning breakfast were well served and very good to eat.
The view from the restaurant of the hotel was very refreshing and relaxing.
Though a simple, basic,Neat and clean hotel,i shall stay here again whensoever i visit Mcleod ganj. There is a yoga room as well. This trip was just overnite trip and got up a little late for the yoga session.
the main reason of recomending this hotel is the friendliness of the Staff, which i hope is maitained.

Room Tip: Rooms on2nd and 3rd floor have good view

This was my second stay at this guest house. The staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurant serves authentic Tibetan food and has a varied menu. They picked me up at the train station and stopped, whenever I requested, to take photographs on the way to the guest house. The top floor has the best views overlooking the valley and the Dalai Lama's monastery. From the roof you can see parts of the Himalaya range. It can get cold in the winter but they have electric heaters available (that you pay extra for). The location of the guest house is uphill from the main part of Mcleod Ganj, on a dead end street. So there isn't much traffic and it's quiet. The single room I stayed in on the top floor, had electric heating for the hot water and was always available (unless there is a power cut). This room does not have a balcony, but has a 180 degree view from the street to the valley and is cozy. If you are lucky the sunsets can be amazing from the balcony rooms or the rooftop.

Room Tip: Rooms on the top floor with balcony have the best views. And you can sit in the sun when it's ou...

Only positive things to say about this place. Even the internet worked. In december it was quite cold and they had even a small electric heater to warm the room a little. The room we had with streetview wa, large, and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and had running hot water at all times. The view from the room was lovely. The restaurant at the hotel is good with great Tibetan food at reasonable prices. The location is very nice too. When we come back we will definitly stay agan at PemaThang.

Not the cheapest and not the most expensive place but very friendly, and with a tidy little restaurant where you can eat out on the terrace and enjoy the sunset.
Rooms are clean and tidy and the linen is fresh and clean too.
I'd go again.

Room Tip: The upper two floors have better views but will cost a wee bit more because of this.

We had a lovely stay in McCleo Ganj at Pema Thang where the staff were so friendly and caring. The view from the rooms is the best looking out over the valley and the Dalai Lama monestary. The rooms were a little noisy if the neighbours are using the TV. But the Brazilians luckily were willing to turn the volume down.
