Clay oven :
Location : Bhagsunag Road, Macloedganj, Himachal Pradesh
Timings : 7.00 a.m. till 9.00 p.m.
Why this? : To feel the day to day local Macloedganj life while you enjoy the food
Ambience : Situated in the center of macloedganj market this restaurant offers Balcony seating overseeing the Macloedganj market lanes. If you love to watch the day to day local people’s and tourists’ movement it is a nice place. They have some lovey hanging plant pots in the seating area making the balcony look beautiful and attractive.
Food : Serves both veg and non-veg food. Primarily Tibetan, Nepalese, Chinese, Thai food is served. Also has fast food options. Momos, Nepalese Thali , Chinese food is good. Quality was decent. The sauce for Pad thai chicken was too pungent and may be they used artificial colouring as the bright orange colour was too prominent. Veg momos were nice , top of the momos could have be softer. They offer variety of freshly baked apple, carrot and bluberry cheese cakes. Food portion per plate was enough for two. Two persons meal : Rs.350-450/-
Service : Very polite and prompt

I love The Clay Oven. We ate there for two evening meals on our recent holiday and both times I had the Nepali Thali. At about 200 rupees it's exceptional value vegetarian food with two main curries and lots of vegetable sides as well as rice, chapattis and a poppadom.
They also do excellent momos
Good value and a very extensive international menu. Great for people watching if you sit on the balcony as it's got great views over the town centre.

A nice little place with great ambience! They served delicious food and the cakes are too good. Freshly baked cakes that melt in your mouth. A total gastronomic delight!!
