“must visit if interested to learn abt tibetian culture”
Reviewed October 31, 2013

This place is a must visit for those who would like to know about tibetian culture. The places of interest are
1 temple
2. Doll museum - interesting information on tibetian history , culture, dressing styles etc.
3. Art gallery - idols and paintings of Buddha in various postures and some other artefacts. If you want to know more about what the various paintings mean this is the place to go. The person at the counter can give more insights.
4. Workshop - if you are lucky enough you can see the artisans working on the idols.

Landscaping is simply amazing

By the way this is definitely not a picnic spot. Good place for genuine art/history lovers.

“Unique Experience!!!”
Reviewed October 5, 2013

A true reflection of the Tibetan Culture.........food, fabrics, art, decor, and much more. So this place is basically an institute rightly as the name signifies. The Tibetans and the locals are taught Tibetan art and craft skills ranging right from carpentry to painting to weaving and much more. So you will have various rooms which you can visit and get a first hand experience. Apart from this you have a doll museum, a Tibetan cafe, a library and a temple. The place is peaceful, colorful and gives you a feel of a mini Tibet. Infact there is also a guest house inside the institute for visitors. the rooms of the guesthouse are very well done and would have been an ideal option had it been not so far away from the main Dharamshala. But for sure it is a must visit!!!

Reviewed October 2, 2013

This institute is well maintained and also have a guesthouse for people to stay. There is a shrine and whole area has been done up very well with lot of water running around. It is so peaceful to be there. There are fabrics, metals done in Tibetan style. Can spend about 3-4 hours here.
