Warm welcome.
Banda's well integrated in the amazing environment. Beautiful and large bedrooms with two beds, mosquito nets. Bathroom with hot water supply and perfect shower possibilities.
Lunch and dinner with enough variety, even for vegetarians.
Lunch packets can be prepared for gorilla trekking.
Join the village visit and you will meet local population in all its authenticity : school, banana brewers, medical healer using herbs, pygmee population.
battery charging possible in rooms.
10 minutes walk from Bwindi Inpenetrable Forest for Gorilla trekking.
Very good management and motivated, happy staff.
Thanks, had wonderful stay!

Mahogany springs has wonderfully spacious rooms with a modern feel. The mosquito netting was designed to encircle 2 double beds which gave the room a cozy feel at night. Crawling into bed and finding a warm bed thanks to a hot water bottle was a wonderful touch. The food and dining area overlooks the Forrest and some afternoons you may see gorillas grazing in the upper slopes just outside of the tree line. The food was great. It was easy to walk to the park entrance as well as browse the shops along the main street. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: There s a generator that kicks on around 5 or so each morning. Although the sound was faint ask for...

Mahogany Springs ruins you for the other lodges. From the furniture to the beds everything is luxurious. Nothing is too much trouble from the friendly staff and everything is done with a certan panache. When you come back to your chalet from dinner not only has it been cleaned and tidied a hot water bottle has been placed in the bed to keep you warm. I asked for some napkins. They were presented to me on a plate. They are giving the same service you would expect in a top 5 star hotel. Add to that the food. I challenge anyone to eat better anywhere. Mahogany Springs made a wonderfull holiday even more memorable.

Room Tip: They were all good with excellent views.

I stayed at the Mahogany Springs for 2 days and they were two heanly days. We were received by the GM at the Kayonza airfield and were driven to the Lodge and an introduction to Buhoma, the inpenetrable forest and Bewindi in general. Once at Mahogany Springs I was just taken by the beautiful surrounding, the legant architecture and the warmth of the people. I stayed at the Presidential suite which was just exquisite. There were views from everywhere and the majestic mahogany tree was just facing the room. Thee soothing sound of the river flowing down the property, the fresh air and the sounds of drums in the distance were just enchanting. There were extensive banana and tea plantations. I felt it was Eden. The Suite was really nice with very elegant furnishings. After lunch in the Diningroom, we could go for the community walk which lasts some two hours. It was most interesting meeting the traditional medecine man, watching the preparation of banana gin or discovering how to grow bananas and multiply them. Back to Mahogany Springs for a leisurily drink on the terrasse. The sounds of drums and singing in distance all sounded so unreal but beautifully soothing. Dinner was simply divine with candlelights, a gentle breeze coming from outside and the wide open doors. The service was good and the food delicious. The General Manager was present talking to guests and making sure they were happy. Guests were all talking about their day and their encounters with the famous mountain gorillas in the penetrable forest. So exciting, tomorrow will be the D day. Now, all I wanted was to enjoy this most beautiful and unique place, the Mahogany Springs lodge. A hot bottle was put thoughtfully in my bed to make sure it was warm and confortable. all these small details of care and attention make you want to come again. An unforgetable experience. Probably this is the best hotel in Uganda.

Room Tip: Presidential suite is a dream

The Mahogany Springs hotel is an exceptional choice for accommodation whilst in the Bwindi Forest. It has incredible views, excellent service, and extremely comfortable accommodation. It was an oasis to return to after a day of trekking for gorillas. I couldn’t fault this place for anything and it is very apparent that it will only get better.

The level of service at this hotel is very high, and the staff seems to always know what to do to make your stay better. Whether it’s bringing you your favorite drink or putting a hot water pouch in your bed during turndown service to keep it warm, they are always on top of it. David, the young man who is the bar head, is an excellent member of the staff who has a bright future ahead of him in the hotel industry.

Also, as I was solo at the resort, the staff did a great job of providing me with pleasant conversation and giving me an excellent table with a view for meals.

We stayed here 4 nights and loved it! The staff, led by the manager Jothram, could not have been more helpful. Jothram stopped off in Kampala at the UWA offices to see if my permits had come through before we arrived in Uganda. Whatever we asked for, was granted with aplomb. David, the Head of the Bar, was a permanent smile. The rooms were beautiful, the grounds immaculate, the view fabulous. Hot water was always available and once they have installed the hydro-electric plant, there will be no more generator noise! We loved the food too!
We were staying over the New Year Eve period and rather than subject their guests to a horrendous kitsch party, the management aware that guests were either getting up at 5.30 for trekking, or had been up since 5.30 and that a party would not be appropriate. So they brough a bottle of bubbly which we used to toast the New Year, with all the guests and staff. Very civilised and thoughtful gesture!

On an asideBuhoma is a fun place to wander. The area is fabulous for cycling and very safe. You can hire bikes up by the park entrance,. I brought my own - and it was a complete joy to ride in this area - tough and hilly, but fabulous.

We trekked the Oruzogo group, an hour and half's drive from the lodge - all do-able. The trek took 2 and 1/4 hours to reach on some demanding terrain. Worth it though!

In short - this is a highly recommended hotel/lodge

We stayed in this wonderful lodge for 2 nights and we absolutely loved! The setting is spectacular with beautful views of the dramatic mountains of Bwindi Impenetrable Forrest, the architecture keeps with setting and is lovely, the rooms are very nice, spacious and cozy, the staff is extremely nice, attentive and friendly. All in all it was a wonderful experience and it is definitely the lodge I would recommend people stay at. It is also conveniently a 2 minute drive away from the beginnig of the Gorilla tracking or a 15 min walk.

Room Tip: They were all nice but I would ask one in the "middle", not too far down near the stream a...
