I am not a great beach person! I am not fond of crowds, I don't like swimming in the sea, and am not on friendly terms with the summer sun! However, Boulder's Beach manages to lure me there! It can be a bit crowded in season, but the delightful squeals of children, the crystal clear waters and the impressive boulders make it worth while.
The penguin colony is, in my opinion, a very humbling experience. To be able to see first hand, the sight of Africa's penguins waddling along the rocks, hovering over nests or curiously looking back at humans is a privilege we ought never take for granted.
The entry fee is worth it, because not only are the toilet facilities kept clean, it contributes to the noble goal of keeping the jackass species of penguins alive and breeding. For a non-beach fan to rave about a beach, you can be sure this one is exceptional and special!
